Hi,
Today, i bought a Royale Moon 3d mobile theatre and it's really awesome if you love 3D. I got it for the price of 98.75 euro's here in Belgium. I bought it to have a second 3d screen next to my Lg E6. I read a lot about it and there are some complaints about people who can't get it to work properly because of the shape of their nose or head. Maybe I am lucky with a normal head and and nose ![]() grtz Kurtos |

Found one on eBay for €300 and there’s a couple more left from the same (French) seller. I’m very much looking forward to checking out the 3D, which is highly reviewed and the perfect solution for watching a late night movie with no chance of waking the family. Thanks again for the recommendation.

I should share my brief thoughts on the Royole Moon, having spent a week with it, as I’m sure others might be interested given the shrinking viewing options for 3D blu ray enthusiasts.
Firstly the picture and audio are top notch, however for me, that’s the only praise I can offer. The headset was very uncomfortable and heavy enough to induce headaches fairly sharpish. The picture itself was nothing at all like being at the cinema viewing a massive screen. It was for me, exactly like having your smartphone a few inches from your nose. It felt uncomfortable viewing something so close and I kept finding myself trying to back away a bit. The 3D did work very well, though when plugged into a HDMI cable, my headphones gave a dubious electrical buzz, which was audible over the sound of the movie. One of the headphones also gave feedback intermittently. One thing about the 3D that I hadn’t accounted for was that it wasn’t always apparent where the screen began, so pop out was practically eliminated in return for added depth. This overall gave a more natural and immersive feel to the 3D which floated around in front of me, however I’m a sucker for the thrill of pop out and missed it mostly. Because of the faults mentioned above, I returned my set, but truth be told I was glad to have a reason to do so. Was worth a punt and some of you might (and clearly do) get a lot of mileage out of the Moon, but for now I’ll stick to the projector and glasses. |

It took me a while to adjust the thing till it felt confortable (both physically and optically), moving the head band and the visor band and angle of the head band. It weights double+ than a big headphone and of course toward the front so the most confortable is reclining or lying down with the head/eyes pointing upwards.
Then the distance between the 2 eye lenses was the most difficult to get right as basically the lenses' aperture circle barely opens as big as the 4 corners mainly when looking straight ahead. I moved them out one notch from centering the aperture, so the center of the image for the eyes is covered, and the left side for the left eye and the right side for the right eye is covered, but the right corner for the left eye and the left corner for the right eye are at the verge of vignetting so that viewing the whole screen felt confortable. (The eye/brain fills up the slight shadow vignetting when combining both eyes in the the middle similar to how you don't see your nose unless your looking for it :?) Moving the lenses centering also affects the part that looks sharp, so then, after doing that is when I focused it, having a still image or test pattern. I didn't have headphone buzzing sound when playing. Think once or twice while it was HDMI handshaking initially? Ideally they should make these with a model without headphones so you use your earbuds or sound system, but I guess they think a whole package unit serves them best. |

I ended up buying this from aliexpress but had to send it back.
chinese version that is english friendly in menu. wouldnt detect the HDMI signal on my region free blu ray player, nor receiver. PC hdmi worked fine UNTIL i tried playing a blu-ray movie and it went black. Tried other HDMI cables, no go. I'm assuming it has to do with the HDCP content. The OS is operating the older version and people have said it needs to be updated. WHICH i cannot do. the system update loading screen doesnt go anywhere. Don't know if this has to do with it being the chinese version (server not recognizing my location? so maybe its that) I contacted the company directly and all they could tell me was that they longer support software updates for this product, even though i bought the revised 2020 edition that has a full height HDMI input (no tongle adapter). A simple driver download on their website that I can copy and paste VIA USB, SHOULD be an easy fix but no downloads are available. I'm assuming if i was able to update to newest update, it would work. Costing $75 to ship it back and seller will only refund me $50. not happy. wasted my day off trying to make it work and i still end up losing money. never buy aliexpress electronics from china my dudes. as for the actual product from what i COULD test. whoever designed the headnose bridge eye piece gap needs to be slapped on the back of the head, uncomfortable af. as others have pointed out, it only becomes comfortable if you bring it down BUT then you can only see half of the screen, so it needs to sit very painfully on your nose to get entire image. whats funny is that the entire 'immersion eye mask' can be popped right off, which means they could have made interchangable sizes for different shapes of faces, like ear buds. dumbasses. on the video quality itself, it was alright. definitely doesnt feel like holding up a phone right up to your face, much better quality than that. reminded me of the Sony Gdm-fw900 CRT monitor i used to own. i primarily bought this for the 3D and the only clip i was able to test was a SBS pre-loaded trailer for "trolls" on the device. the optic dial tones need to be close together to get the most effective 3D but you DO lose the sides of the screen. You can widened it to see entire frame, but then the 3D impact is lessened. I only paid $401 for this, if the full frame 3D blu ray HDMI packing worked, i would have kept it. i was so pissed i just ended up shelling over 1K for the GOOVIS PRO D3 controller headset. the GOOVIS PRO is the top tier one. ALTHOUGH ive spoken to customer service and they've explained to me, that you need the D3 Controller version to use 3D blu-ray frame packing through HDMI. So just getting the GOOVIS PRO ($850) will not cut it, you need to get the goovis pro+D3 controller bundle (over 1k). i saw the HDR specs as well, not really why i got it, but should be fun to play with none the less. that cinera kickstarter VR set is taking too damn long not gonna lie, im really pumped to get some decent OLED level 3D's in mah face ![]() |

Hi - I just picked up a Royole Moon new in the box and it's the Chinese version of the Moon Box. Is there a way to flash the Moon OS to the US version and also how do I acquire the updates? It's at v2.3.2 and I'm not sure if that's the current version. Their website has no download for the Royole Moon listed and I can't get anyone to e-mail me back. I'll try their phone support at tomorrow.
Service Line : (866) 397-0080, press 2 Office Phone : 1-510-490-1601 I'm able to use it on my Xbox Series X and Playstation with no issues, however it won't work with my Fire TV 4K, Fire TV Cube or origional Fire TV 1st gen without running the HDMI through a 4 port HDMI KVM switch. Weird. Any help would be great! Thanks, JEff Davis |

I don’t think you’ll likely find any support now. Can’t remember if there was a way to update in one of the menus?
I sent mine back after a week, because it had way too many quality issues and was really uncomfortable. One of the earpieces literally just fell off. Swapped it for a Quest VR and even though the picture quality is lower, I’m much happier. There isn’t a perfect solution for wearable 3D hardware at the moment. Even the Apple one has its drawbacks. |
