Saw this on Amazon. No release date, but whew that price tag!! Hopefully, that comes down abit. Can't wait for this set to be released.

Well its being released by HBO and its potentially 2 Seasons combined.

Based on the prices for the Sopranos, I'm guessing it won't be going down in price anytime in the near future.

I guess if it's both seasons $98 isn't too outragous. The DVD's were $60-70 a season. Don't know if this hold much water but in the Product Description it does state:

"The entire award-winning, critically-acclaimed series will be available as a Blu-ray gift set, just in time for the holiday season."

I would easily part with $100 to have both season of Rome on Blu-ray.

Definitely agree with paying $100 for both seasons...if it's only 1...then not so much.

EDIT...guess if I actually read the description I would know the answer huh?

Nice! I am stoked about this! $100 for the entire series isn't too bad, as it cost more than that on DVD.

Ohh ya! Pre-ordered. That's a great price. I hope they have nice packaging but I doubt it. I loved the DVD packaging. I'm guessing it's coming out around the end of the year.

Look forward to this release. Hope it comes in similar packaging to Band of Brothers. $100.00 for 2 seasons is a pretty good deal.

You read my mind Squid, but it's not even tentative anymore. It's been relegated to the unscheduled and rumored release pile.

Rome is good stuff, but i probably won't be buying it. Not enough replay value for me. I mean once you've seen one naked women drenched in cow's blood as a sacrifice to the gods to protect her son on his travels, you've seen them all.

I would NOT worry about that. This is PROOF that HBO is going into their catalog stuff. They know that Rome was loved by fans, and Deadwood as well. Band of Brothers sold like hotcakes (pretty sure) so they are going for it. Deadwood will come....I'd bet on it.

Oh...and the whole blood soaked sacrafice etc...I can watch it again for sure...Yes, please, and thank you HBO.
