Pretty sure Time Bandits is still in print (I didn't check), if you got all 3 films for a total of $40, that's just amazing!
You're right about it be addictive, i was hoping to get ben buttons in this week, i need my fix man..
The rights to those films have gone back to MGM I think, so Criterion won't release them anymore.

true. Same with The Rock, and Armageddon I believe. And Chasing Amy wont be criterion.

We should make custom covers for those movies so that we can have the "whole" collection on blu.

Wages of Fear, The Last Metro, and In the Realm of the Senses all showed up in my mailbox today

I already watched "In the Realm of the Senses" too.... The improvement over the DVD is phenomenal....... I look forward to seeing what all of the excitement is over "Benny Button" too..... but that will wait for another day... I haven't seen "The Last Metro" before.... so I look forward to watching that one next.

Yes In The Realm of The Senses looks very good on Blu-ray - there is no disputing that.

I thought I read somewhere that Kevin Smith was in talks with Criterion for an anniversary release of "Chasing Amy" on Blu. Seem to remeber him saying that "Blu-ray is better than being high" Which I guess is a compliment?!

My wife and I watched "ITROTS" last night and it looked amazing for its age and how mediocre it looks on DVD.

As for Button, I enjoyed it in the theater but not enough to purchase on blu, criterion or not.

well.... My wife is open to quite a bit in terms of "artistic presentations" but this title just isn't her cup of tea...... I guess she's still too old-fashioned to see the forest through the trees

I'm just giddy about the rumored (and borderline confirmed) forthcoming release of "Contempt"

And I'm looking forward to watching "The Last Metro" as soon as possible.... seems "light" and I'm in the mood for something a little less emotional...... (some films can really change my entire mood for the day!)

He's doing a Blu-ray, but Criterion refused to release it.

Didn't I read earlier about an e-mail from Mulvaney over on CriterionForum.org about Criterion losing the blu-ray rights to "Contempt," which would certainly be unfortunate?

Did anyone else take notice of that about "Contempt"?

Yeah, the third post down right here is mention of the "Contempt" blu-ray rights being lost. There just doesn't seem to be much talk about it, yet, though, so I'm still a bit unsure about it.

What Criterion needs to hurry and get out is "The Seven Samurai" before they lose those rights, if they already are not gone. Not having that one film in the blu ray collection would be a tragedy so much more so than Ran.

pro-bassoonist has mentioned this, too, and has found that Le mépris is planned for a French release.

I was under the impression that Contempt was supposed to be a launch BD title. I'm definitely looking forward to that title, as well as Last Year at Marienbad and Seventh Seal.

And in order I have watched Half Nelson, Sugar, ITROTS, and Mister Lonely along with reading and finishing up the comic Y-the Last Man, ALL of which end on a somber or semi-depressing note, despite all being top notch.

Tonight is the Foot Fist Way...I need something light and funny.

Issue with the Region A rights on Blu-ray because the Japanese distributor was worried about people importing the Criterion disc from the US. Last I heard this title has been cancelled until further notice.

Picked up "The Curious Case" from the trade forum.....

Got them all now except "Repulsion" (which is a great title..... I've just gotta wait for the gold-box..... I've got time to space out the purchases now )

Dangit, Beta Man! Now, you have the house, the wife, the kid... and all the released Criterion blu-rays!!!

Now, I feel sorely behind in life.

Got In The Realm Of The Senses, The Curious Case Of Benjamin Button and The Wages of Fear. Watched Benjamin Button. Amazing PQ.

Next up will be The 400 Blows and The Last Metro. Thank god the recent releases are in the plastic cases. I hate the cardboard ones.

On Wish List: The Seven Samurai, Ran, 8 1/2, Carnival of Souls, In the Mood For Love, Kagemusha, La Ronde, Fanny and Alexander would be great too.

What do you guys think the chances of "Picnic at Hanging Rock" will be the next release in the Blu-ray Criterion Collection to be announced?
