I've only read the first book which I enjoyed enough but probably won't complete the series unless I love the show (particularly its ending since the books have a terrible ending and the show apparently is not afraid of diverging from book canon).

Very excited for this show though, especially the chemistry between Jessie Mei Li and Ben Barnes.

Read the trilogy and liked it. Don't have Netflix right now, but may have to sign up again when this comes out.

I watched the first Ep of this on ATV4K to get ATMOS and it didn’t disappoint. The 4K/DV liked great and very good use of audio if you have ATMOS. I’m sure it sounds good in 5.1 too.

It was an interesting show and since I liked The Irregulars, I’m enjoying this.

Binged this all on Friday. Love the chemistry between Jessie Mei Li and Ben Barnes! I knew there was a reason I'm a Darklina shipper, especially with all the Reylo parallels.

The real surprise for me was how much I loved Nina and Matthias. I never read Six of Crows so I wasn't familiar with these two characters but I loved their relationship as well.

Been watching the series a couple of episodes at a time. What a interesting ending to the first series. To see what comes apart yet sticks together in a way is a interesting break point. Such power the dark one possesses. I hope season 2 comes in less then a year.

I'm not a fan of how the original trilogy ends. One of Alina's comments in one of the middle episodes of S1 makes me wonder if they're hinting at that ending being changed.

Let's call it a new trend then, it's just so ubiquitous right now. In the last 12 months alone we had seasons of

Fate: The Winx Saga
Sabrina
Shadow and Bone
The Nevers

And upcoming seasons of
Powerpuff Girls
Stranger Things

And i'm not even counting all the superhero shows.

I think you need to review novels from the 1880’s to 1920’s. Just because CW shows recent content centered around female magic or superhero is not indicative of changes to fantasy novel’s preferences. Shadow and Bone shows both to be as formidable.

I don't currently have Netflix to watch this. My "supplier" canceled her subscription. Unless, Netflix found out! LOL. It is going to be a while before I subscribe. I am currently on HBOMax, when I cancel that I will sub to Netflix. But I want to watch this show. Read the books, thought they were pretty good.

I could always invite myself to my sister's house to watch this though.
