But how do I know if that's a steelbook or not? All I see is a picture....

Also, does it have English subtitles? And will it play on Region A players?

Thanks for your guys' help.
TFI Video have been region locking their releases so no it would not play in a Region A player other than a LG BH 200.

These TF1 releases have French subs when watching with the English audio - you can't turn them off unless you watch on a computer.

TFI is releasing Crank 2 in France on March 19, 2009. I'm assuming this will be another steelbook.

Anyone know where I can get my hands on The Downfall: Hitler and the End of the Third Reich (La Chute). Seems to be "Currently unavailable.
We do not know when this item is new or if supplies will be." on Amazon France.

I think it's another title that's been pushed back and never was available

I was finishing up some work and a thought came across my mind to find the origins of the steelbook™. A quick search brought two links up.

http://www.dvd-intelligence.com/main...ok_article.pdf

http://www.steelbook.com/designers/venstre.htm

This is the company that holds IP rights to steelbooks™.

Hi, not sure where to post this but was wondering if someone could help with ordering from amazon.de. I spend so much time translating, was setting up address details and Canada is not listed in countrys (land) section. Do they ship to Canada. Also I read somewhere in another thread here about how they ship, no bubble wrap etc. are the chances of damage less if i order 2 steelbooks or safer to stick with one at a time.

also is media markt an online store or just a regular store because I cant figure out thier site either?

thanks

If you already have an amazon.ca/.com account all you have to do is sign in at amazon.de and all your existing information at those accounts will carry over to your amazon.de account.

They do ship to Canada. And like amazon.ca here, they use the cardboard wrap around packaging on small orders. If you order enough items I suppose they will use a box and bubble wrap the contents. I don't know if they do this because I haven't made a big enough order from them yet.

I don't think media market has international shipping, they don't ship to Canada.

Hey there and welcome.

Regarding Amazon.de: do you already own an Amazon account over on the US or Canadian sites? Because if you do, you can simply log into Amazon.de using your email and password that you use for the aforementioned sites.
The German site works exactly like the others, using the same forms and pages. If you've already ordered from the North American sites, it should be easy. Get back to me here or via PM if you get lost in translation.
They pack their items like other Amazon sites using cardboard material that they usually wrap tightly around the Steels. I've never had issues with them, although they've never had to cross and ocean to get to me. On the other hand, packages I've received from Amazon.com weren't as tight as the German ones, maybe sturdier (although I think they ALL use the exact same boxes worldwide) but not as efficient when it comes to things staying steady during transit.

Regarding MediaMarkt: it's a regular store that does not sell online (and if they do, it's only within Germany).

Hope that answers your questions. Like I said, do not hesitate to drop me a PM or a message here in case.

You're welcome! And good luck with ordering your steels.

Another concern you may not have considered is the possibility of paying Canadian duty/taxes when your order is shipped to you. I have ordered from amazon.de, amazon.uk, and yesasia and have rarely been 'caught'.

I'm not saying you won't pay at all, I'm just saying the chances of you getting caught by Canada Poste is remote but does exist.

I think everything worked out ok, what I had to do was on amazon.ca even if you don't purchase anything enter your credit card info (with address) then everything carries over to amazon.de with Canada as my country I was trying to add a new address before. Its a little confusing when you have to copy and paste paragraphs into a german to english converter I ordered to steelbooks shipping was the same as 1, so far price was not to steep if i dont get nailed by customs. now I wait till april 17 and see if they come in un-damaged. (cross my fingers) I hope I know what I'm getting myself into with these crazy steelbooks

thanks again

Hi JHM,

I order one from amazon.fr when the amaray case was displayed and received the steelbook. The one I received was damaged so they sent another steelbook and I received it 3 days ago so I think it is a very safe bet it is the steelbook

cheers

I've never seen TF1 re-release previous SteelBooks in amaray cases, so it's pretty safe.
