Reading this thread some time ago triggered an untamable hunger which could be ended only by taking an all-german road with existing blu's of all the movies mentioned here, all I need now is US set of The Master series and that will be solved aswell as soon as I stumble on suitable bargain. Next step is to come up with some nice ideas for putting them on display along with japanese LDs of Ninja Trilogy and greek tapes of Revenge of the Ninja and Pray for Death which were back in the days pretty much only way to get hands on uncut versions

Here are all of the Region A (or Region Free) Blu-ray releases so far of Sho's films and TV shows:

And here are the other major works from his filmography (not counting TV guest appearances) that are not on Blu-ray yet:

American Productions

Japanese Productions

Unfortunately after 3 great releases in 2018, there was nothing in 2019, so here's hoping that 2020 will bring the release of at least one of these.

Any hope for 9 Deaths of the Ninja to get released in Region A on blu-ray?

Even in region B, any idea how the German release fares in terms off transfer? Is it at least a recent genuine HD master?

I don't know. I can't find a review for it. I'd like it to get a Region A release because I own all his other films they've released over here and it's probably the last one I'd like to get if it did come out.

So weird that 9 Deaths of the Ninja isn't on Blu yet. Fairly awful and probably his worst movie, but I absolutely loved it as a kid. Would buy it in a heartbeat on Blu!

I haven't seen it since the mid-90's. The cheesy James Bond wannabe title sequence sticks out in my mind.

Believe me, that's about the least memorable thing about this film! There's so much wrongness its too hard to count... Still umming and aahing about one of those German mediabook editions.

This was also released on laserdisc.

I tracked down part of the 35mm film reels for Aloha Summer (4-6), hoping to find the others and make my own transfer. This film needs a release, Tia Carrera first film, Sho Kosugi, Chris Makepeace, and Yuki Okumoto. I've tried to track down the director with no luck to lobby for a release. This and Hamburger: the Motion Picture.

That's sounds awesome. Have you tried to contact the film's Executive Producer Warren Chaney? He's the one who discovered Tia Carrere in a grocery store in Hawaii. He might have the missing reels or could point you in the right direction. I don't know if he has any social media accounts, but Sho Kosugi does (Facebook, Instagram, and even a YouTube channel) and he and Mr. Chaney were in close contact a few years ago as they co-wrote the 2 Yin-Yang Code novels together.

Hope this helps and please keep us posted.

Why has Journey of Honor aka: Kabuto (1991) never gotten a DVD or Blu release?

Sho Kosugi, Kane Kosugi, Toshiro Mifune, Christopher Lee...

C'mon, Kino Lorber Studio Classics. Where you at?

There was a dvd release (as SHOGUN WARRIOR) from cheapo outfit 'Moonstone' in the UK. It looks like a tape to dvd transfer. Good film and production values...pity it's not better known.
