Kit Parker released it in a 2-DVD set.

I need to get around to grabbing it myself.

Default Bear Shooters Restoration Comparison

-- Project Update --

With all the shorts in Volume 1 in the can, we plan to start sharing some restoration comparisons in the coming weeks heading up to its release on June 1st.

Below is our first such comparison (of BEAR SHOOTERS) which displays what the current DVD looks like, what the raw scan looked like and what our newly completed restoration looks like.

I know it may seem hard to believe, but YES, the Our Gang shorts CAN and DO look this good. Quality does vary from short to short, based on available film elements, but as can be seen in the video, the upgrade here (as will be on all the shorts) is significant.

And as dirty and scratched up as the raw scan on this short looks, the film elements used were one of the cleanest and least problematic of the 11 to be included in Volume 1 and is also one of the sharpest.

Pre-order your copy today!

I really enjoyed The Man Who Watched Trains Go By. Claude Rains does a good job and Marta Toren was so striking in her role that I wanted to look up where else I could find her, but wound up being shocked & disappointed at how young she died--would have loved to have more films with her.

Default The Little Rascals Project Update

-- Project Update --

Volume 1 is in replication and even though the official street date is June 1st, we'll ship out the set early for those who have purchased at ClassicFlix.com (likely around May 20th).

Also, below is a restoration comparison of the 6th Our Gang sound short MOAN & GROAN, INC. (1929).

As can be seen, MOAN (like all the shorts in our upcoming set The Little Rascals - The ClassicFlix Restorations, Volume 1) has received a major restoration presenting a clean, sharp and stabilized image.

ENJOY and pre-order your copy today!

Default The Little Rascals Project Update

-- Project Update --

Today's update brings a restoration comparison for the 5th Our Gang sound short Bouncing Babies (1929).

Of the 11 films to be included in Volume 1, we budgeted the most restoration man-hours for Babies due to the damage and deterioration of the nitrate film elements.

As seen in the comparison, the results are nothing short of spectacular.

Streeting on June 1st, pre-order your copy of The Little Rascals - The ClassicFlix Restorations, Volume 1 today.

Orders placed at ClassicFlix.com will have their shipments go out well prior to street date (likely around May 20th).

Has it ever been stated why ClassicFlix no longer uses Facebook? I receive the e-mail newsletter already...just curious why they left such a high visibility platform?

Those little birdie's sometimes get all the best lowdown.

They indeed have all been licensed (DVD/Silver Series only). Nothing scheduled but likely out in the next 6 - 12 months.

We've also got these anticipated Silver Series releases (and some more great announcements soon too!):
  • Getting Gertie's Garter
  • International Lady
  • Mr. Drake's Duck
  • My Son, My Son
  • Shoot First
  • Silver Queen
  • Three for Bedroom C
  • Tender Years, The
  • Vogues of 1938
  • Young and Willing
and today we announced this:

From one of the best-selling books of all time, Anna Sewell's classic 1877 novel Black Beauty, comes two film adaptations that are making their home video debut in The Black Beauty Collection (ClassicFlix Silver Series) this August 17th.

Our 14th Silver Series release, this double feature release stars Mona Freeman in Black Beauty (1946) and the late Johnny Crawford in Courage of Black Beauty (1957).

Random bit of trivia for genre fans: Black Beauty marked the only feature film that '40s scream queen Evelyn Ankers appeared in alongside her real-life hubby, '50s sci-fi leading man Richard Denning.

Someone's been a busy little bee.

I'm surprised by the three Fox/Alperson titles. I was under the impression that the rights to all of the titles Alperson produced for Fox were turned over to them, which would put them under Disney's control now. Is that not actually the case?

And were the Wanger titles from the Westchester Films catalog (owned, I last heard, by Shout! Factory), or were they acquired from a different source?

These are all former Westchester titles, now owned by Shout.

Today's update brings a restoration comparison for the 7th Our Gang sound short Shivering Shakespeare (1930).

Shakespeare was another challenging restoration in Volume 1, but as can be seen in the comparison, the results stunning-- especially when compared to the current DVD.

Streeting on June 1st, pre-order your copy of The Little Rascals - The ClassicFlix Restorations, Volume 1 today.

Orders placed at ClassicFlix.com will have their shipments go out well prior to street date (likely around May 20th).

Out of that list of Classicflix titles in the works, am most interested in the film Shoot First (the cast including Joel McCrea and Laurence Naismith).

Came across a film noir while checking out a title by another label, Shed No Tears. Who is this with in the States?

I believe it's in the public domain. If decent elements exist, I'd love to see a blu-ray upgrade.

Today's update brings an unrestored RAW SCAN (with unrestored audio) from reel 1 of the 38th Our Gang sound short HI-NEIGHBOR! (1934).

Another beloved short in the Our Gang canon, HI-NEIGHBOR! is scheduled for Volume 4 which is likely to be released in fall 2021 and will look stunning upon completion of our full restoration.

Support this project by purchasing copies of Volume 1 & Volume 2 today!
