Default RUMOR - Sunset Overdrive Remaster and a sequel are coming to PS5

Damn, Insomniac is one busy studio these days!

I enjoyed it for the gameplay on X1, despite the "humor" and cringe dialogue

I thought it was a pretty good game! Yeah that'd be nice if the sequel comes to PS5.

I played a little bit of it when I had an Xbox One, and while I found it enjoyable, other games took my time away from it.

Wouldn't mind giving it another chance on PS5.

Yeah I didn't like the tone of the game at all. I found it extremely obnoxious in that 90's "extreme" era sort of way.

Now that Sony has published on Xbox, I wonder if the remake will also end up multiplatform.

I thought the game was alright, but the whole time I was playing I kept thinking I'd rather be playing JSRF...

MLB The Show is a very unique situation. Sony was left with no other choice but to develop it on other platforms or lose the license exclusivity. The Xbox version was published by MLB themselves. Sony did not publish it. So no, this is by no means the start of a "trend" of Sony putting more of their exclusives on Xbox.

Interesting. I personally wasn't a huge fan of the first but interesting to see a Xbox exclusive title switching teams.

I really liked the first one so I’d buy a remaster &/or a sequel day 1.

A remaster for the first is possible, but insomniac has two main teams. They're making ratchet, and Spider-man 2. There's no one working on a second sunset game unless its only in pre-production and starts fully after Ratchet. (or it's a mini-game and they're using the small Morales team, but every indication is they just re-joined the spidey 2 team after launch.)

I would think the existence of a sequel would only be predicated on how well the remaster does. If they release the remaster and nobody cares, what reason would they have to bother with a sequel? I know a lot Xbox fans were pissed that a sequel never came to their platform but how can it be that surprising when the first one sold so badly?

I bought the first game and was able to enjoy it to some extent but the overall tone and visual design of the series is not something I want to re-experience.

Thanks. Yeah, the whole skateboard railgrinding on everything is interesting for a skateboard game, but they make it seem like the main way to get around in this game. I wonder if the character can just walk around and explore that way.

It reminds me of Infamous, where you're just walking through the city and lots of little monsters start attacking the player.

I guess the game has its fans for them to want to make a sequel.

I'm not onboard yet, but will keep an open mind for the sequel.

You can run around normally, but it is a lot like Infamous where the game encourages you to be mobile when fighting and traversing the city. And the weapons remind me a lot of Ratchet & Clank. The combat could actually feel really good when you’re fully powered up and fighting off tons of bad guys. It wasn’t a bad game but I feel like it’s a low point for Insomniac. If there’s one word I would use to describe it, it would be tedious.

My recollection is when you're fighting you can only really run around on the ground for a little bit before you start getting overwhlemed. And if you're not fighting, it's much faster to take the rails.

I thought it was funny. Did you guys play as the guy or girl? I played as the girl, there might be a difference there.

I've been dying to play this game and would absolutely love to play it on PS5 after waiting so long.

It's good the game lets you climb up on telephone wires to skate on.

The open city, I wonder if it's fun to explore?

I would want to go on foot as all that hopping and jumping on those rails and the character constantly glowing every few seconds looks distracting. I guess if it's looked at like a Rollerblade skating game, it could be fun.

The city looks interesting and a good size.
