How I sound to you is how you sounded to me so glad we have that understanding. Unless your a scalper why would you care "Oh no more people will have a chance at something cool !! dammit!! " literally who cares. do you get mad when anyone re-releases a title that has gone oop?

I'm confused. Are releases with both a slipcover and a standard edition completely going out of print once the standard edition tally hits 0? I've noticed a few that are getting low for the standard but can't tell if they get a restock.

If the description at the top doesn't say anything about going OOP or being a one time pressing it's likely getting reprinted. Though it can take months sometimes and a few titles seem to have gone OOP without a word lately.

I'm with the majority on the topic of re-printing slipcovers - just a bad idea. Don't mess with a proven and highly successful formula.
As far as a "generic" slip, unless I missed some details, I don't see how that is an interesting idea either. A blank cover with only the VS logo and the movie title in black generic font? Who'd want to look at that instead of artwork? The spine would also stick out like a sore thumb if your VS are sorted together. I would buy the lower priced non-slip version any day over something like that. |

I wish that other labels do the same, like Indicator on his sales. With Indicator and others I need place one big order without knowing with titles go down on numbers or pay shipping again and again for every small order, is a pain!!! |

I love VS but to be quite honest I'm not into much of their catalogue. The only movie I've purchased is Beastmaster awhile back and I got some dvd keep cases that work pretty well.
Im curious what other movies are you guys buying over the weekend?! |

I posted this a few pages ago but I'm still seeing people getting bummed out that Beastmaster LE is sold out.
Grindhouse still has copies of it and Don't Panic with the slips https://grindhousevideo.com/products...3d6fc4d1&_ss=r https://grindhousevideo.com/products...a222b9ac&_ss=r |

Reprinting slips is just a waste of time for VS, imo. The whole point of buying LE's direct from VS and a few other online retailers is for the slipcover. If you want the LE slip, buy it before it sells out. |

I repeat: From the November 2019 releases on, Vinegar Syndrome has included English subtitles for their English special features except for feature audio commentaries (and maybe some other audio-only extras). This is nothing less than a heroic act, something that almost no other boutique label cares to do. And it's doubly heroic, considering the amounts of their supplements. I mean, these crazy people subtitled the entire six-part new documentary on The Beastmaster as well as the 55-minute archival making-of! And they've been doing it for every release for the last year and a half. Imagine the workload. And what's crazy is, as far as I know, VS has never boasted that they're doing it, so many people probably don't even aware of this. I myself have been steadily following and collecting VS releases from the mid-2017, but just found out about it early this year, thanks to their partner label Fun City Edition release of Alphabet City, which was the label's first release as well as my introduction to them. On the main menu, there's an option to watch the feature with the director's intro. I selected that and pressed the sub button on my remote immediately without much thinking, just to watch the feature with subtitles, not the intro. And voila, the intro also had subtitles! At first, I just thought 'well, it's only about 30 seconds and attached to the main feature, so...' But that lucky accident led me to try the same button for the other supplements and to my surprise, 22-minute director interview and 5-minute video essay also had subtitles! What's funny about it was, the subtitles for the supplements were better-timed than those on the main feature, which were slightly but annoyingly off as many VS releases usually do. So my guess at first was that Fun City Edition added their own efforts for the supplements while VS only did the main feature. I vividly remember thinking, 'wow, this Fun City Edition guy went a step further than Vinegar Syndrome!' lol Of course, 'but maybe...?' followed soon enough and my jaw dropped when I tried the same with the supplements on the Martial Law 1&2 disc. 'When did they start doing this? Why didn't they say anything!?' From then on, I backtracked their releases I had and found that The Angel Collection, released in November 2019, had subtitles, while Beyond the Door III, released in October 2019, didn't. So I guess they've been doing it since November 2019. Of course, I couldn't check every single supplement on every single disc, and I found one exception of the audio essay by Rachael Nisbet on The Police Are Blundering in the Dark of Forgotten Gialli: Volume 1 (Jan, 2020), but I can say I checked enough and the results were more than promising. |

Tbh I wouldn't mind if they release a 2nd slip for movies like Demon Wind and Ice Cream Man where they had text in the back and it kind of looks like they just reprinted the sleevejacket art onto the slipcover. I think what they could do is instead of reprinting the old art /reprinting the old slips is that they use new artwork for the second version and have those slips also be limited, just like what they've done for Spookies, Cutting Class and Fade to Black. Other companies like Grindhouse Releasing and Cauldron Films put out second limited edition alterations. It gives Collectors options of which version they prefer to collect.
