Personally, I'll stick with my copy of the Japanese release (until we get a new scan and master), and THIS pretty much sums the reason(s). To me the worst thing with the German release is the fact that it's cropped, I can't stand it.

I prefer my Japanese disc as well. The others are too bright and stretched to 1.78. At least both Japanese and German (2020 Paramount release) discs offer lossless audio. The US releases are stuck with lossy Dolby and DTS tracks.
