Well not only moi, but gkolb and LordoftheRings also do such accounting. Kind of the same reason people post about the number of nits their TV can produce, the number of Blu-rays, UHD BDs in their collection, etc. We are drawn toward numbers.

The whole "Tom Cruise riding a motorcycle without a helmet" thing in his movies is really starting to piss me off. Especially since his passenger doesn't have one either.

I like everything statistical science, including the box office numbers; how much money films make worldwide, and domestic. It has something related to arts and culture.
