For those that are saying the TVA is a rip-off of Umbrella Academy, the organization first appeared in Marvel Comics in 86. Umbrella Academy started up as a comic in 2007. The TVA feels right at home in Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, which appears to be an inspiration in the Loki variation.

In lighter news, loved the first episode, Hiddleston's great as usual and Owen Wilson's got a winner with Mobius. Watched it twice yesterday.

I find it kind of ironic Loki gets delivered to me the day after Loki's show debuts

Like I'm not saying we all have to sit around and jerk each other off about the show. I'm okay with having differing reviews. But let's at least have valid opinions.

Calling a 55 minute episode, that doesn't even deal with time travel ramifications (yet) a rip off of a (pretty decent) super hero show that (kind of) deals with time travel...even though the source material for TVA predates umbrella academy. That's just a factually incorrect statement. And if that's the main criticism then it's just a troll job.

But if anyone wants to discuss the merits of the story and acting not being up to snuff, I'm prepared to disagree but also have that discussion.

Too many trolls on this site these days.

Yea but it's something that...I guess people say?

Do you mean Guardians or Hitchhikers? Lol because I'm definitely getting hitchhikers guide vibes too.

Even though LOKI IS AN ABOMINATION AND A RIP OFF OF HGTTG

*Sits here as a huge fan of hitchhikers guide, Loki, and Umbrella Academy*

So, I collected all of Marvel (and some DC) except for Dr Strange....solving problems with magic was lazy trash writing then too.
I guess you don't give an "F" about the second "F" with regards to Science Fiction & Fantasy?

All the stuff in Marvel's universe and someone sees a wizard and it's, "Nope... I'm out!"?

https://www.reviewgeek.com/87352/lok...-cliffhangers/

Loki even tried to imitate the cute little cartoon Diego had to watch while at the Commission...blatant ripoff.....
And like I tried to tell you kids....both shows rip off the idea from John Varley "Millenium"....doesn't matter who ripped it off first.

Cool show, really dug the first episode, but I have to single out Natalie Holt's score for praise. Wonderfully dark stuff.

The score also stood out to me, which is pretty rare for the MCU. Digging the 50s sci fi vibes the music gives.

All in all very solid episode. If the show maintains this level of quality and pacing then we've got a winner on our hands. The past two D+ shows have me tempering my enthusiasm, but I'm cautiously optimistic.

Alot of the score reminded me of Ragnarok, which is a good thing

This kind of felt like the MCU trying to do their version of Legion only not as interesting.

A good portion of the first episode feels like a recap. I didn't buy into any of the emotion of Loki seeing those scenes from other movies.

D+ isn't about having Marvel try new things or rip stuff off...it's to provide backstory to characters we won't see in solo movies. Give these characters depth, while also guiding the universe at large.
It didn't feel like a recap to me, but I understand not buying the emotions. The wrinkle of being blamed for his mom's death I did like. But the complaint was answered in the show:

Lokis not a bad guy...he just felt like he needed to be one for most of his life.

We have now reached the stage of double posting. Post an article no one responds. Then post a meme still no response. What to try next.
