I think T3 is the best of the series, but that's an unpopular movie opinion right there.

Salvation took the franchise in an interesting direction, but it's a complete mess. Ever since they've been trying to just remake T2 in different ways, and it's never worked particularly well.

Zero chance. Don't bother. I hate Terminator 3, Salvation is okay, Genysis is really fun in a goofy fan fiction way, and the last one was unremarkable. I think 1&2 are masterpieces. You'll have a bad time if you keep going cause you've seen the peak of the franchise.

I really enjoyed Dark Fate, it’s been a bout a decade since I saw T3 and Salvation. I remembering enjoying them both, but remember more from Salvation. I really liked the casting of Anton Yelchin as Kyle Reese. I remember finding Genisys to be a total disaster.

I'm still thinking about watching Dark Fate to see if Gabriel Luna does well or not.

I like him! I think it’s fun! None are ever gonna reach the heights of the first time, but I liked Linda Hamilton! It’s not perfect but my favorite of post T2 Terminator Sequels.

T3 is a fine movie. Nothing special. Salvation attempts to go somewhere interesting with the franchise.

Geneisys is horrid. Never saw Dark Fate.

T2 works as a sequel. But I would have been fine if the series only ended at the first film.

The first film is structured kind of perfectly. It's a closed loop. There's no need to go further with Sarah's story, really, especially in repeating the idea of having a future machine coming back to kill someone. The most natural progression, in my mind, for the series after that would have been a movie set entirely in the post-Apocalyptic future. Show us the war with the machines.

This is why I keep wanting to like Salvation so much. It's finally doing what the series should have been doing since the second movie. But it's just...so badly written and barely competently made.

It's been quite some time since I watched it but I remember T3 as being a rather thrilling roller coaster ride of a film. While obviously not on the same level as the first two, it was far better than most people gave it credit for and was definitely better than any of the sequels since.

That having been said, I'd have been quite content for T2 to be the last film in the franchise.

I much prefer the defeated "we can't change the future" feel of the ending of T3 over the hopeful "no fate" stuff from T2.

I watched Dark Fate a couple months ago for the first time and it’s probably the worst of the bunch. Fine as an action film in it’s own right, but absolutely painfully inoffensive outside of it’s opening scene to the established lore to the point it’s beyond have any impact whatsoever and completely toothless. It’s honestly so pointless that it feels like a Terminator rip-off that just so happens to have Hamilton and Schwarzenegger make an appearance in. The fresh rating on RT honestly is beyond me, I actually retroactively admire Genysis for at least attempting something (although that’s the most actively terrible of the Terminator movies).

I just like that we have three separate T3's in three separate timelines. Kind of appropriate actually. I like all of them about equally.

I prefer watching Genisys and T3 over Dark Fate.
The Terminator franchise will no doubt come up with new dumber sequel

The funniest thing about Dark Fate was that it was supposed to be Cameron righting the ship as producer, and it's a by the numbers remake of the first one.

"Oh, the girl is actually the bad ass hero? That's...old hat. What else do you have? Another variation on a Terminator? Okay..."

It's okay. It's competent. It's also proof that no one with access to the franchise will take it in anything close to an interesting direction. Just let the thing die. No one cares anymore, and if you're not going to do anything but remake the first two movies over and over again, take that creative energy and direct it somewhere else.

See my issue is that all of these classic series/franchises with enjoy from the 80s/90s/00s are hinged by characters. Nothing gets more boring than watching the same thing happen to the same guy. That's why Die Hard has gotten so ridiculous. It can still be fun but sometimes you gotta challenge the story and do something new.

Mission: Impossible(1996) is still the best movie in the franchise. Also, Ghost Protocol > Rogue Nation >>>> Fallout.

I keep watching these movies where one man goes through an extraordinary event and barely comes out alive, and my thought about where the direction of any future movies isn't "more of the same but bigger and slightly different". It's that this was a traumatic experience, and I'd love to see some kind of intimate character study of this man going trying to return to normal life.

Terminator Salvation is a fantastic Terminator movie. T3 is also good. It's only flaw is the casting of John Connor but after the abysmal Genisys and Dark Fate I'll overlook that casting choice because T3 has some fantastic action sequences.
