Doubt

If you however said Tropic Thunder, I'd believe you.

The Hangover was gifted to me watched it and gave it straight back. Skipped the second one. However I did end up watching the third one and just like the first one could not stand it. Have not seen Step Brothers.

Why do people still make a big deal over that DREAM sequence? It was amusing, it was made to be amusing and everybody laughed at or with it when it came out. What's the big deal?

It's still better than the whole human clone BS in Fallen Kingdom.

Super 8 > E.T.

Love both, but I think the former did a better job at using the alien/government invasion to bring the characters to an emotional catharsis.

I don’t understand this latest habit by the ‘Film Twitter’ crowd where they celebrate any random film after it’s aged a year. It just seems a desperate attempt to seek engagement and amass clout.

The “discussing film” Twitter account that all the cool kids follow these days makes a habit out of this.

Movie anniversaries are only meaningful with 5 year increments.

I miss when me and Dally would play with each other.

I’ve decided to disengage since I don’t approve of his relations with a creasy troll.

I'd push that to 20.

But I want to play. I'm going to keep a knife in my back pocket though. I don't entirely trust you.

10 years at least.

Gives time to reflect and re-access one's feelings, and look back at it's cultural impact.

That twitter account I mentioned was busting out so many odd number 'anniversaries' yesterday. Like, who cares that Zootopoia came out six years ago.

That's my biggest problem with TD - if the lead could actually act and not have that dumb hick persona. I've always said they should've switched his and Zachery Ty Bryan's roles, then maybe it would've been the underrated gem most people think it is.

I'm not sure if this is popular or not but I just finished Ran and am astonished.

As much as I love Kurosawa's other films that I've seen (I'm particularly fond of Throne of Blood and Rashomon) it's hard for me to even compare them to Ran. It seems to be on an entire other level.

Ran is the best Kurosawa and I'd put it in the top five films ever made, along with 2001: A Space Odyssey and a few others. His early stuff is really terrific, but Ran and Dreams are really astonishing.
