Although Criterion subsequently released DOH on DVD after Paramount's original DVD, Paramount may still have the BD distribution rights.

Do we know if it will include the theatrical cut? I'm not a big fan of extended editions generally, they always seem to include things that were cut for a good reason.

Now, director's cuts, that's different, normally. Especially if it's Ridley Scott, for instance.

But with extended cuts, just for the sake of more, they tend to be worse.

Yeah since the labelling of cuts is not always reliable, do we know which this is? A director's cut or just an extended one?

I was afraid that might be the case. Now wouldn't it be great if Criterion were to co-produce a Blu release of DOH with Paramount, just like they did for 'Benjamin Button'?

I can certainly understand why some people loathe 'The New World,' but I adore it. I can't wait to review it come September!

The cinematography in this movie alone is worth the buy, hopefully Warner doesn't screw it up. Now if we can get Fox to release 'The Thin Red Line'.

You know whats odd.... I actually prefer long, slow, meditative movies. But for some reason this didnt work for me. I kept trying to like it, but left the theater underwhelmed.

Seriously, give the extended cut a chance. It is a stronger film than what was released in theaters (see above!) and is one of the unsung gems of the decade. Plus, how many truly visionary directors do we have left, anyway?

Also, the preorder is so very affordable right now. It's only kinda sad that it's Warner and not New Line releasing it, not anymore, since those guys might to a bitstarved A/V encode, but other than that--yeah, hosanna, Malick on Blu!

This is such a must for me.

Only a little while more now. Still no info on whether it's a BD25 or BD50, though; hopefully the latter

Just got this online and it came with no case or artwork (said it would). Anyone have a scan of this or a link to it?

Of course the theatrical cut I hope for is the original 150 minute one, before Malick gutted it due to negative reviews. I really hope we get a definitive set with all three cuts.
