I thought they got out of the player game because they were not selling enough Blu-ray players.

Well I read Oppo wanted to concentrate on their Phone Business, but you're right the BD Player Market was not doing well and they would have to raise their prices. So they backed out of the Player Market to pursue more profitable areas!

Nope, they got out of the business because they needed all their production lines to maximize phone manufacturing and the VP left (Pete Lau) to head OnePlus, now he is back recently working for Oppo Electonics again.

Causality of Oppo Electonics wanted the smart phone margins. Now they are back to diversification as smartTVs they sell are being sold in China.

Are you in the market for a new player? If so then I assume you know about LG, Panasonic, Philips and Sony. New models for 2021, two from Reavon (here) and one model from Tascam (here).

Made it through Furious 6 on 4K disc. There's still the issue of no immersive audio on the extended cut -- don't know why Universal hasn't fixed that issue.

I blind bought Monster Hunter on 4K disc and that arrived last night, so will probably watch that today at some point.

My Once Upon A Time In Hollywood novel is in transit and should be here on Thursday, but I also ordered the Kindle version and that should port over tonight.

I see it has a digital code. Is the IPTV (streaming) version the extended cut? If so, what audio does it have?

I have not redeemed the digital codes, so am not sure on the specs.

I got some potentially good news which I will share behind spoilers as I do not want to hijack the thread.

[Show spoiler]I saw my cardiologist on the 24th and he told me that he believes that I will mostly, maybe even fully, recover from my heart problems (Chronic Diastolic CHF, or congestive heart failure, and left ventricle dysfunction). I underwent heart catheterization and no blockages were found.

He believes that my heart problems were caused by one of my three abdominal issues all of which were addressed in surgery. If the surgery to fix the most critical of these issues (an open tear in the bowel wall) proves to be a success my cardiologist believes that my heart will mostly, maybe even entirely, recover. He said that my heart was pumping infected blood as a result of the tear in the bowel wall and he believes that was/is the cause of my cardiac problems.

Recovery from these surgeries takes on average 8 weeks, so the cardiologist wants to run some tests on me in late August to verify his prognosis. My previous prognosis was far less optimistic in that I was told that I probably would not get worse, but not to expect to get much better, either.

I am still on heart and blood pressure medications and some for my digestive system. I am on a restricted diet; I have to especially watch my sodium consumption and eat easy to digest high fiber foods. I can only lift up to 20 lbs, but that is an improvement from 5 pounds. My weight is up slightly at 138 pounds. My blood pressure is back to normal which historically it always has been. My energy levels have improved from being able to do light activity for 10 minutes to being able to endure for a full hour before I need to rest.

If anyone is still awake after reading all of this and wants to know more, just send me a PM. I wanted to explain my condition in greater detail so that going forward I can offer more abbreviated updates.

I actually just received the 4K set of all the movies today and redeemed the codes. For Fast & Furious 6 it shows Atmos in Movies Anywhere but I do not have the setup to test and verify.

I continue to watch stuff via streaming as it is easier on me than searching my many shelves for a disc to watch; stooping is still hard for me making the lower shelves difficult to reach and stretching to reach the top shelves is also a tad problematic.

I had to upgrade my cell phone recently as AT&T is shutting down their 3G network and AT&T made the process as cumbersome and as cryptic as they could. I got the Samsung A52 for my new phone and I also get HBO Max as a perk of my new phone plan.

I watched The Conjuring 3: The Devil Made Me Do It and Annabelle on HBO Max and I found both movies to just be okay, nothing remarkable about either one of them.

I also found the user interface at HBO Max to be slow and clunky; there are often delays before the UI responds to choices that I make and I sometimes have to wait for thumbnails to appear. I do not have these issues with other services. Once I have started a movie, I have had no problems. The selection on HBO Max is pretty impressive from what I have seen thus far.

On Netflix I watched a Korean Sci-Fi movie called Space Sweepers and I really enjoyed it a lot. If subtitles don't scare you, give it a try sometime. I am currently watching The Haunting Of Bly Manor and I like it so far, but I still much prefer The Haunting Of Hill House. Maybe that will change as I watch more of it.

If I understood cheez avenger correctly the regular cut did have immersive audio (DTS:X??) while the extended cut did not.

Great to hear! Like I said before, if you need any help with medical terms or such like, pm me. Penton Man’s partner works in the field.

Thank you. I read Penton's post and his offer to help me understand all that has happened to me was very generous, especially considering that he doesn't even know me.

It just goes to show that we have a lot of really kind and helpful members at blu-ray.com. In the heat of lively debate I think we forget about that sometimes.
