So much greatness!

This show is exactly what I want from a Marvel TV series. I want those conversations from the previous episodes, the kind they don't have time to indulge in during a 2 hour movie. The story and the action sequences mean more to me when I have more of a connection to the characters and can observe they have more of a connection with each other. What some consider filler, I consider exactly what I'm looking for.

I made more audible noises watching this episode than anything else I've watched in quite a while. Next week is so far away!

Tom Hiddleston, Own Wilson, and Sophia Di Martino are getting a lot of praise, and rightfully so, but I want to take time to mention Wunmi Mosaku (Hunter B-15). She is knocking her role out of the park.

I agree. A lot of people seem to forget that a large part of comics is talking. You learn just as much about a character by what they say and how they interact with others as you do when they fight and make big, world-changing decisions. Heck- look at the Walking Dead comic- that's primarily talking (granted, a different genre than Marvel/Loki, but the same principle). I'm all for action, but some of my favorite comic book movie scenes of all time have been Talkies- Interrogation Scene in Dark Knight, anyone? If all we got were action scenes without any character development, it would be like the Michael Bay Transformers movies- all spectacle, but no heart. Especially when the point of the show, arguably, is to humanize and hero-ize Loki, you gotta have those slow moments.

I just found it hilarious that they are slamming the series and I've become convinced that they don't actually read or watch anything they review. There was a comment that Erik Larson made recently that I find to be the truth, actually. He tweeted that "people online get an over-inflated view about how much their opinions matter and that most youtube viewers aren't readers of comics" and I suspect that's true of most movies and TV shows they seem to rally for or against.

Case in point, I didn't really enjoy the first episode of Loki that much but I try to give every new series a few episodes to draw my interest. While Loki started out rough, each episode just gets better and better. The latest episode, "The Nexus Event" was spectacular. I was blown away (sorry guys, I'm not spoiling on this; you have to watch it) by some reveals in the episode.

I'm getting very excited for the final two episodes of the season. The episode did have some reveals, some surprises, and a few shocks. But, I've definitely hooked on this series.

.

Still hoping this is able to deliver but with two episodes left I’m getting worried this is another “extended Marvel movie” and with a bit more careful plotting all this could have been done in a 2+ Hour film instead of a six week series.
The mid-credits scene is a disappointment. It should have been reserved for the cold open next week.

Though, I feel, this show is definitely well done. But everything feels telegraphed to me.

Three of the major developments this week I saw coming -
[Show spoiler](Timekeepers being fake, Gugu being a baddie, Wilson being pruned.)

I think they can guard their development better. It is all very interesting and engrossing. But you kinda realize what's going to happen beforehand.

Much better than that boring lackluster Episode 3. I felt for loki when Mobius got pruned. That was the only friend Loki really had

Thinking back on it, agreed. As that would’ve given us a weeklong agonizing “what’s gonna happen next?” thoughts.

Oh, yes. Excellent casting.

[Show spoiler]

Classic/King Loki:

The Loki in the silly-looking costume with the horns is "Classic Loki," an ode to Loki's classic costume from his earliest days in Marvel Comics. This version of Loki is played by actor Richard E. Grant (Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker), whose casting in Loki has been a big mystery - up until now. It's Classic Loki who drops the ominous warning to Loki about surviving this strange new realm - and his older age raises many questions. There's already speculation that parts of the "King Loki" story from the comics could be included with Grant's character.

Kid Loki

The young version of Loki is the Marvel Cinematic Universe version of "Kid Loki" (played by Jack Veal) who has a storied history in the comics. Loki was reincarnated as a younger version of himself, and one who at times was free to operate without the burden of memories and/or powers of his former self. Kid Loki fought alongside the Young Avengers for a time, but his nature as a trickster and villain was constantly at odds with the team. Still, for Marvel fans who have been keeping track, Kid Loki is yet another piece of the Young Avengers roster that Marvel Studios seems to be building up in every Phase 4 project.

Boastful Loki

The black gentleman with the very large Thor-style hammer is listed in the credits as "Boastful Loki". He's played by actor Deobia Oparei (Game of Thrones) and like every other Marvel fan, we have so many questions! As far as we know, Boastful Loki isn't an established character from the Marvel Comics canon.

Alligator Loki

Things are just getting weird with this one. Again: the small alligator in Loki headdress that Kid Loki is holding is not a Marvel Comics character we know of. But it is a definite sign that Loki episode 5 is going to get real weird - just as Tom Hiddleston promised.

Wasn't he already considered a hero after Infinity War?

Well… this is 2012 Loki. Not the same Loki from sacred timeline that lived through events of Ragnarok and Infinity War to be seen as a hero.

It’s a different kind of redemption path. Almost a do-over, more self-centered intrinsic exploration of Loki that will set him on course for heroics.

This score though.

I have no real comment on the episode besides I really liked it. I'm intrigued as to where we go in the next 2 episodes.

So....we had the good to me-episode 3. Then the episode with a few actual moments of good drama 4 (let's not talk about the lame fight in the timelords chamber with a bad imitation of the super cool stairways from "Labyrinth") Just to find out that the first 4 episodes are a set-up for "Into the Loki-Verse" Sheeesh.
