Did they fix the bit where he's on the hood of the truck and shooting through the windscreen and when he snatches John off his dirtbike? Because Kent's face is pretty visible in those shots as well as the infamous slow-mo motorcycle jump.

The effects shots, however, were apparently mostly hard matted to scope or close to scope and so those sequences were cropped.

I'll take the intended scope ratio any day. The composition was framed for that ratio anyway (just like Blade Runner 2049) and looks quite odd, to me, at other less wide ratios.

In cinematography (as with paintings or photography), it's very hard to compose properly for more than one ratio. That's why Roger Deakins is a stickler for watching films he has DP'd at one intended ratio and has pushed back on watching IMAX versions that change the original ratio he composed for.

Well it looks absolutely nothing like Schwarzenegger, that's for sure. It doesn't bother me anyway, it's one flub in a film with a notoriously large goof-count.

The jump does thats a Stan Winston mask, it's the bit after they didn't where he grabs John as they couldn't use a mask for safety

I need to watch it again. Have only seen the 4K once. The face replacement is on the slow mo jump too as I remember though.

I expect plenty of CGI revisions for the new 4K release if it ever happens. Though as jarring as they are I am used to it at this point.

It’d be an improvement in True Lies’ case though. Even with all the obvious stunties it just works in T2, but in True Lies everything seems to stand out so much more.

I wouldn't be against the face replacements but I wouldn't complain if it wasn't done either. The opening scene especially is the worst.
