For what it’s worth, Tiffany Grant is NOT confirming or denying her involvement in the dub on her FB fan group (which she manages herself, and it’s quite active). She’s usually pretty outspoken on certain Eva-related topics, and made her feelings very clear on the Netflix dub (which she loudly denied her involvement in before it came out), and even the redub of 3.33 that she worked on. For this? “Can’t wait to see it!

Is she trying to use everyone's favorite David Williams catchphrase? Every ADV Films convention panel: "I can neither confirm nor deny."

LOL, no. That's literally all she's written about it, last I checked. She hasn't responded to any direct questions about her involvement with the dub. I personally think she would've made it very clear at this point if she wasn't contacted (especially since she wouldn't have an NDA), but that's just my observation. Nobody else has said anything either (and Amanda probably wouldn't be involved anyway).

Amanda Winn Lee was being a bit sus last month, too. Of course this could be for any of her past characters, but it lines up.

Also, tinfoil hat moment, but Spike just posted this:

Amazon switched to Closed Captioned powered subs on the Roku around the time the Anime Strike mess failed miserably . Mine are setup nice so no worries for me .

I've just got this feeling you know that we'll (repeatedly) be buying $200+ editions that are incomplete. A la Cowboy Bebop style or Dragonball Z. It seems inevitable. There's no way they don't gouge us on this. Need to decide to just be happy enough with getting the discs.
The problem with that scenario is that everyone's idea of "comprehensive" or "complete" release of any limited or collectors edition is different. In the case of Dragon Ball Z (i can't comment on Cowboy Bebop) I honestly think consumers' distaste for most of the releases across DVD and Blu Ray is magnified because of it's popularity and huge fanbase.

Bigger fanbase = more potential unhappy customers.

I'm sure it's gonna be the same with Evangelion if they can't manage to include the ADV dub, or if they can't manage to include Fly Me to the Moon, or if there are missing extras/bonus features that were on the DVD's that somehow got excluded on the upcoming "Ultimate Edion" of Evangelion.

Three (rather opinionated) thoughts:

1) The ADV dub situation might be unavoidable (depending on Khara's stance on it) but quite frankly I don't care. Anyone who insists on English dubs for a non-children's show (with the obvious exception of visually-impaired and/or dyslexic persons) doesn't care about the integrity of the original work to begin with and can stick with the ADV discs if and they don't like the Netflix dub and the old late-90s dub isn't included on the BDs.

2) All the on-disc extras from the "Platinum" DVDs except the clean OP/ED and episode-length "animatics" were absolute dub-crew garbage. I'd just as soon not have them wasting disc space that would be better served improving the primary content's video bit rate, thank you very much.

3) If GKIDS is unable to license "Fly Me to the Moon" for their Blu-ray release then I would seriously question why exactly they were licensing the show in the first place as it would undermine their reputation for distributing foreign animation in a respectful manner and uncut.

Agreed, but if it was ever going to happen it would've already done so with either the 2003 JP "Renewal" DVD box set or at latest the 2015 JP Blu-ray box set. I'd think it insanely unlikely that the first entity to be able to take Symphony of Evangelion into the digital age would be GKIDS.

While I do have the Laserdisc of that concert, my LD player isn't currently hooked up so I've been resorting to watching it via a 4GB-sized .MKV LD-rip that I found on some random torrent tracker years ago (but long after I bought the disc itself).

You've gotta wonder why they'd bother recasting for the series if the original VAs were gonna be allowed to return for the final film (possibly). Why not keep continuity and use the same actors for everything?

None of that’s been confirmed yet.

Plus, you do realize that Neon Genesis Evangelion and the Rebuild films are two separate entities, right?

I'm happy it's on prime video so I can watch it. Seems so long since 3.33 came out, might have to rewatch that before next month.

Hence why I said possibly.

Uh yeah of course I do. It doesn't mean there shouldn't be continuity in the English dub.

I mean, if they manage to get the English cast back for 3.0+1.0, then technically it would be (with the ADV dub that is.)

Kinda. The only ADV voice actors to reprise their roles for the Rebuild films were Spike Spencer (Shinji), Allison Keith (Misato), and Tiffany Grant (Asuka), along with John Swasey (Gendo) from the “director’s cut” dubs of eps. 21-26.

Awesome looking set. Probably gonna blow North America's and the UK's release out of the water - like most Korean LE releases.

For those of who are wondering; no english sub/dub.

I'm actually kind a glad that it doesn't have english subs.
This would cost me an arm and a leg and I had to have it, if understandable for me. Dodged a holy lance right there!
