Why? That would only cause unnecessary headaches IMO. If someone has a criticism, they can type it out and make their case intelligently using words.

Yeah, it's been increased although I don't know what the current limit is, but the limit is due to the reason Johnny Vinyl laid out in this earlier post.

IMO the feature should be used when you feel a post has been informative and of help, and when you don't feel like posting yourself. I've seen many instances whereby a member gives a Thank You and also replies to the post. That action wasted an available Thank You. Get my point?

We decided against calling it a LIKE feature as it was felt that this would turn into a popularity contest. And to minimize that possibility a limit was also put on the current Thank You feature.

The Thanks button will not display for you on your own posts and won’t display if you’ve already marked a post as Thanks.

There is also a limit to the number of posts you can thank in a day. At one point the limit was 10; however, we aren’t sure what the limit is now.

Not sure of the upper limit but it's >30.

Have done a thread search in the Feedback sub-forum for threads about the Thanks button, and among the search results this seemed the best one to post in.

Would like to suggest something regarding the Thanks button: a search function where you can look for Thanks added by a specific member (currently that's not available).

And one other thing, I don't think a Thanks added to a post is a waste when you quote that post and reply to it.

Following on from the above, quoted post (if that's allowed in Feedback), you can view from the 'Most recent forum activity' section the threads where members have added Thanks to posts you've made. There is also the section via your community profile where you can see a list of the posts where the Thanks have been added.

But there isn't an option where you can see how many Thanks an individual member has added to your posts, as well as the last time they added a Thanks.
