I had no idea we were allowed to call people idiots on here! I've been unecessarily polite.

That seems a bit harsh.

Couldn't you just give them mild sedatives instead...?

I've always felt the scene with Biff and Lorraine in the car towards the end of Back to the Future was a bit strong for a PG. I mean, he's not after a kiss.. I even think there's a shot of his hand coming out of her dress.

You may well find in the UK they would have made that a 12 now because they've specifically said, after comments received from people concered that it's a subject not being taken seriously enough, that any violence, especially sexual or even descriptive, will *probably* push up the rating by one level, the example given being The Favourite - from 15 (for strong language and strong but (consensual sex) - to an 18 because of the multiple casual band explicit references, to threat of mass rapes if the country loses the war.

Since it's not referred to, even obliquely, I don't think the BBFC would or should reclassify it for that alone. The audience is allowed to infer the outcome (which only those over a certain again are likely to do anyway) but the movie does not explicitly make it a material aspect of the plot or dialogue nor does it exploit any images of it to enhance the sense of peril.

Hanging on to the back of a car and the Doc getting a chestful of bullets, twice, would be more likely to nudge this into a 12 if it were a new film being submitted today.

Just happened to be looking on the bbfc site earlier and noticed Ghost Dog was classified again yesterday from Studio Canal. What might that signify? Would love a UHD.

Is it, where did you hear that? The new classification is for Physical media + VOD/Streaming, not Cinema. Of course they might still use the FilmFour rating (it's remained a 15).

At least it will be cinema I mean, the trailer for SC in 2021 didn't specify formats at all.

From Melon Farmers (the site) on Twitter:

Has the BBFC just downrated Cannibal Holocaust to 15?

Or maybe it's just another example of a shoddy database.

Looks like another example of their new garbage site. For some reason it's listed as a TV show (in the above image too) and if you expand "Season 31" you see the only thing rated 15 is something that lasts 1 minute and 2 seconds. Who knows what that is, but it's not the film! What a shitshow the BBFC site is...

The new website really pisses me off. I ran a cinema club in the pre-covid times and the website was very useful for finding the most up to date cinema certificate for a film or if it's cut then what's missing (because I liked to inform the members exactly what they were watching). When we start resuming it soon, I might as well just use something like melon farmers or IMBD to find out those things.

The BBFC are too busy promoting social issues to do their actual job.

Hey, if that means they're too busy to cut/ban movies, don't knock it!

It was always dodgy how they tried to downplay their involvement with getting films cut, but now that they're removing ever more cuts data from their website they only seem even more corrupt.

It's no surprise to see the BBFC jumping aboard the new trend of censorship and avoiding transparency.

Woke shite again.

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-57733015

27 sad, with nowt' better to do losers, complain out of a total of 93 about Flash Gordon.

"discriminatory stereotypes" .... if the example the BBC cite (their assumption) not the bbfc, then the world is indeed, going down the pan.

somebody give me any other possible reasons coz' I'm none the wiser.
