I agree, but there's no harm in placing pre-orders and keeping an eye on the prices. It's very likely they will drop as usual before release. They always start their listings at full list price. If not you can always cancel before they ship.

Yeah I saw these but gonna go with the stand alones on Amazon. I don't need the vinyls or the pins. But great for collectors!

I’m going to wait for reviews and media info scans.

Given Shout!’s track record with bad QC, I first want to make sure they have the right footage (no extra or skipped frames), the correct color gamut (correctly encoded in the video), and good audio.

They’ve messed up in all three (among other mistakes) and I want to make sure they are good transfers before dropping $135 - $185 on them.

The LG disc's video + the OG mono sourced from LaserDisc is the definitive version of this movie, for me. I am definitely looking forward to seeing what Shout and Dean Cundey (sigh) have done with this, the fact that they are calling the disc 3 version the "Original Color Timing Presentation" could not possibly bode less well.

I went with Halloween and Halloween III deluxe sets from Shout. I wanted the Halloween set from Sacred Bones for the differently colored vinyl, but Shout has free shipping and comes with a poster. I can sell the posters, and get free shipping.

I think I should sell my Halloween III steelbook now, too.

Really like what I’m seeing from SF for this version. Glad it comes with the reversable cover. Don’t think I’ve ever used their custom covers (except their slip covers of course).

They are 7" singles with a song on each side — “both tracks are newly recorded by the trio [John Carpenter, Cody Carpenter and Daniel Davies] and exclusive to this release.”

So they are not the versions found on the original soundtracks, but rather re-recordings.

If you're in Canada and want to order all 5 movies with just the posters, you're looking at about $265 after the conversion

EDIT: that's through Shout (or Amazon US minus the posters of course). I don't see anything posted on Amazon Canada yet, so it may be cheaper there because you'll get free shipping and no conversion
