I have the 50A650 which is a few steps up from this. I have no clue on what the price is you are looking at but my TV is amazing. I mean its not Kuro quality in terms of blacks but it will probably leave you still drooling in terms of action scenes and just all around happiness.

Ok looking at the price you can spend about 500 more and get the 58A650 which if you ask me looks better (ToC!) and I am sure has a few more features. Sorry I didn't see the link of the original post. I bought my 50 for 1799 I am sure the 58 is only about 500 more than mine maybe 600 at most but you can find it out there for cheap. If you ask me I'd look for a better deal not saying that this isn't one but you can find something better for the price I am sure.

You should also take into consideration that this is a 2009 model (B540) so it may have the trickle-down tech from the A650... it may be a far better value.

I'm sure I'll catch hell for this but I work in elec. @ Sams
I see a 50" Kuro and 58" Samsung Plasma side by side everday. Although neither is calibrated the Samsung has impressed me as much as Kuro. Same hd feed and on brighter colors the Samsung "pops" more than Kuro imo

I bought a the Samsung PN58B560 58" Plasma a few weeks ago for $2049. As I recall, my set only has a couple more features than this one above. I'm sure the panel is exactly the same. I calibrated it with DVE for Blu-Ray and have been very happy. The picture seems excellent and it has been great watching the Blackhawks in the Stanley Cup Playoffs on it. I had a Sharp 52" LCD previosly and I do like the bigger size better and the think Plasma has LCD beat on PQ/dollar ratio. It is awesome with Blu Ray. Two downsides vs. my older LCD:
1) this set does indeed get warmer. Even after calibration. Its not a huge difference and I don't know if it will be detectable on my electric bill, but its a small thing to consider
2) There is a faint buzzing sound that comes from this set. Only time I can hear it is if I watch a movie late at night when the kids are in bed and the movie scene is very quiet. All other times I can't even hear it. I only comment becuase in other forums I have seen some people complain so much about buzz from Samsung plasmas that they are ready to take the set back. Mine is no where near that bad, I can only conclude there could be alot of make tolerance variation on this from unit to unit, maybe just something to look out for.
