There's a somewhat interesting view of semi-transparent wardrobe at the end of "The Man Who Could Not Die" that gets obliterated due to the formatting of the widescreen version shown on ME-TV. Not that I noticed, or anything. The lo-rez screenshot is not as good as the actual dvd:

Still, must be stunning in high-def..

The pause button will come in handy.

That said, there are reviewers on Amazon complaining it's not 16:9.

It is like the cover of the bluray had the same kind of formatting error.

Obviously you can see all you need to in Bobby Jo, but sometimes the dressing has a way of garnishing the feast for the eyes.

I’ve gotten dozens of blu-rays in bubble mailers from Amazon and none have ever been damaged. I’ve had some cracked CD jewel cases that way though. I guess I’m lucky.

I've had very good luck as well with these Amazon bubble mailers, drb999. So far, I've only had one unmitigated disaster involving the shipment of a Blu-ray inside one of these Amazon bubble mailers. I just pray that our good luck with Amazon continues for a very long time!

I don't have the set as yet and hope those screenshots don't exemplify the series on Blu as a whole because it looks like WB erased the high in high definition in these examples. Carter's facial pores are almost gone, filmic texture is absent, detail is lacking. The colors look more accurate, however, than what you see in in the DVD images, which boast a bronze hue. But still, I hope they didn't DNR every episode like this. WTF is wrong with some of these studios? Don't they have eyes?

I don't disagree. Clearly a half-assed effort on the part of WB, lossy audio being the icing on the cake.

I guess they haven't all been corrected since they only corrected 4 discs. But I guess we should be thankful they listened at all and made at least some effort to correct some of the episodes. I'm still not sure which episodes are corrected though. Sounds like moviebuff75 is the one who knows the most about that in here. A big thanks to you for putting so much effort into trying to get these corrected.

They do, but there are complaints about it not being 16:9 and that there is too much film grain, which is why they DNR. Worse, many studios twiddle the DNR knobs for one episode and assume those settings will work for all episodes of the series because “they were shot by the same crew on the same stock with the same lighting people, right?”

People expect everything to look like it was shot on digital for 16:9 even if it was shot to 16mm or using the cheapest film stock the producers could get their hands on.

Also, I can pretty much guarantee 90%+ of those working on this project never before saw an episode of the show and the zooming/cropping “errors” were due to a 23 year-old transfer editor making an aesthetic choice.

What's weird is when the studios themselves do that, like Fox releasing M*A*S*H episodes reformatted to 16:9; they have the resolution to since the series was shot on 35mm film, but no one in any way associated with the show ever imagined they wouldn't be shown in 4:3.

Someone just uploaded a 16mm print of the opening to THE MAN WHO COULD NOT DIE, if you want to see what it looks like without the zooming on Roger Sampson's credit.

ok i just got my set from amazon($29), shipped from California and to me in LA, What the differences in the set that i should be looking for? Is there a list of the errors? Ive only put in disc 10 to see the credit mentioned above. There is a zoom in the credit on my disc. Now are these error-ed discs the only problem that presents? Or is there zooming in the actual episodes themselves? Do any of these problems occur in the original dvd sets? If i returned to amazon for replacement chances are id probably get the same problem sets? Does going direct thru warner any help at all?

I have 2 monitors so I cranked up one on each and man the difference was obvious. Just look for the ".2".

I just gotca corrected one and I just ordered.

That she is, slimjean! Back during the Wonder Woman series' original run on network television, Issac Asimov wrote an article about science-fiction in TV Guide magazine. Asimov was citing what was and had been 'good' science-fiction represented on television, but Lynda Carter's Wonder Woman series came up short in the SF department in his particular view. However, Asimov did admit in this article that even though Wonder Woman didn't represent "good science-fiction" this series was an example of "very good biology."

I just received my second copy of this set from Amazon, and I was surprised to see that it came with the slipbox. Now I'm worried that I just received another copy of the original pressing. Has anyone received corrected discs and a slip?

Was there ever a replacement program for this, or is re-buying the whole set the only option to get corrected discs?

It seems re-buying the entire set and hoping you get the corrected discs is the only option.

The copy I ordered from Amazon just showed up, but I wasn't expecting to receive one with a slip (as the copies I see now in stores don't have the slipbox). I'm afraid to open it in case it's from the original batch...
