A PG-13 Predator film would be a REALLY bad idea.

I can’t wait for Predator 6 when the Predator tackles the evils of capitalism, gender norms & White privilege. These people never learn, no matter how much money the lose.

I don't hate the story idea. I just think it's a tad rich that it's coming from a white guy director and a white guy writer. Like how do they know anything about the struggles of being an indigenous woman?

Research and talking to people are tools that good writers use. I doubt the writer and director of Wind River knew very much until he did his job as a writer, and did research.

It actually has more akin to The Revenant than it does any film in the Predator canon.

Fair.
But I trust Taylor Sheridan with his writing and research attempts. Mostly.

Dan Trachtenberg, not so much.

True yet I would hope people are not expecting 100% accuracy in a Sci Fi movie. Yet at the same time we are in that kind of climate, so we shall see.

Again giving me vibes that this was not intended as a Predator movie and was re-worked to feature a predator instead of a different threat/creature.

I hope it's not actually titled 'Skull.'. But I also hope it's not eventually titled something like 'Predator Origins: Skull' either.

"It goes back to what made the original Predator movie work. It's the ingenuity of a human being who won't give up, who's able to observe and interpret, basically being able to beat a stronger, more powerful, well-armed force," he explained.
lol what rubbish. What made the original PREDATOR movie work was the same formula that made HORROR OF SPIDER ISLAND work. It’s a dozen half naked oiled up hotties in a jungle, bare flesh rolling around in mud, and occasionally being menaced by some hokey monster in a rubber mask. Just give us a horny movie again!

Didn't they confirm long ago it would be R? Especially with it coming straight to Hulu.

But yeah, if it does end up being PG-13, all I can say is this:

As in, another R-rated franchise dumbed down and ruined. You're talking about an alien that hunts humans for sport, peeling off their skin and collecting their heads as trophies, not exactly PG-13 stuff.

Predator invades a tropical island where a swimsuit/lingerie photo shoot is taking place and only Rosie Huntington-Whiteley can defeat it?

Not only is a PG-13 Predator a terrible idea, it's completely pointless seeing how it's going to Hulu, not D+.

Has an exclusive Hulu release been confirmed? If not, I would guess the PG-13 rating possibility is in case the movie goes to theaters and the studio decides to go that route with the rating.

I also wonder if the "Skull" title has something to do with the lawsuit going on between the Thomas brothers and Disney. Maybe "Predator" can't be used?

I don’t stream except in the most extreme instances (maybe once or twice a year) so I’m glad to hear this will pass me by with little to no fanfare.

I was hoping the 1700's and showing the passing of the flintlock from Pred 2. Possible still I suppose. If he admits a connection to Pred 2 then no surprise.

Real shame that never came to pass.

While not a bad idea. I think the origins of the flintlock, in live action, are more powerful as is. We just know that the Predators have a history here on Earth. Man, I love that scene in Predator 2. That whole section in the ship added so much mythology to it.
