There are several boxsets with the entire series, and I wanna make sure I get the one that has both every episode, unaltered for whatever reason, in the best quality available. Thanks.

I ordered the latest mpi release (May 2021) because it contains english subtitles. If you're still interested, I'll let you know when it arrives.

So, with Kino Lorber's announcement of their upcoming release of "Violent City" combined with the upcoming release of "The Valdez Horses" aka "Chino" plus new masters in upcoming releases of "Mr. Majestyk" and "Breakheart Pass", the number of Bronson titles that haven't been released on Blu-ray are dwindling. Kino in particular have released a lot of Bronson titles over the last 2 to 3 years.

So, what are your top 3 or 4 Bronson releases that you would like to see next on Blu-ray? They can either be movies that haven't been released yet in the U.S. on Blu-ray, movies that are currently OOP on Blu-ray or movies that have been released on Blu-ray but that have clearly-dated masters.

My immediate list would be:

1. Red Sun
2. St. Ives
3. Death Hunt
4. The Evil That Men Do

Telefon is the top of my list. Probably Red Sun after that.

1. Telefon
2. St. Ives
3. Love and Bullets
4. Death Hunt

The first two would be dvd upgrades for me.

3. Love and Bullets
4. Borderline

"Raid on Entebbe" will never be released on blu-ray, I guess, because it´s a TV movie despite the great cast.

I'd rather have it without the German text. Hoping WAC releases, but worst case scenario, I'll import.

I have the Japanese import. It is region free. It is an older master but looks decent. Pretty sure it is the same transfer as the UK Studio Canal release that is reviewed on here. It is a great film and I am very happy I imported it....

Lots of scenes in broad daylight which the blu-ray benefited from.

I´m so grateful that the Germans released that movie on blu-ray.

Yeah, I'm dragging my feet on importing that one. I wonder what is holding up a release in the U.S or the U.K.?

With Kino Lorber renewing Mr. Majestyk & Breakheart Pass and preparing new releases with new masters (and hopefully some extras), it makes me wonder if they will do the same for "The White Buffalo" soon. It was another one of their early Bronson Blu-ray releases that had only a single trailer (just like Mr. Majestyk & Breakheart Pass) and I imagine the master that was used could probably be improved upon.

So, at this point, what are the best Blu-ray releases for the first 4 Death Wish movies in Region A?

My assumption is that the best releases are:

Death Wish: The Paramount release from 2017:
https://www.blu-ray.com/movies/Death...lu-ray/185701/

Death Wish 2:The "Special Edition" that Shout Factory put out in 2016:
https://www.blu-ray.com/movies/Death...lu-ray/153786/

Death Wish 3: The Scorpion Releasing version that was released last year:
https://www.blu-ray.com/movies/Death...lu-ray/274961/

Death Wish 4:The MGM release from 2012, which appears to be the only Region A standalone release for this movie.
https://www.blu-ray.com/movies/Death...Blu-ray/45641/

Am I off on any of them?

I think you're right! I wish a collector's edition of the first film would come out, but I don't see it happening since it's with Paramount.

I do imagine 4 will get a new remastered release soon, probably from Scorpion like 3.

For Death Wish II, I would recommend this: https://www.blu-ray.com/movies/Death...lu-ray/210100/ . It contains some very interesting bonus features...

Telefon is the one I'm mostly waiting for, the film never looked great to begin with having that soft focus and hazy look so not expecting a miracle when it finally does arrive one day.

Have you seen this? It is region free....

Or do you not want #5 and just want a standalone release of 4?

I haven't seen #5 but assumed that it was probably terrible. I basically am just looking for the absolute best Region A presentations of the first 4 movies, regardless of whether they were standalone releases or part of some compilation.

To be honest, I like #5 more than #4 and even #3.

I love Bronson and the Death Wish series but Part 5 is on the same level as Jaws 3 and 4……. Awful😵
