Yes, right in the US many Netflix Originals have gotten on a Blu-ray release. It can depend on what companies were all involved in the production of the film because many people think of a "Netflix Original" as being produced and owned by Netflix, but this is usually not the case (as of now). For example, Sony is involved closely in the production of the series The Crown, and so the Blu-ray releases in the US are done by Sony. Similarly, The Umbrella Academy is produced in part by Universal, who recently released season one on Blu-ray.

Third-party distributors have also licensed Netflix Originals for release. The high-profile Roma and The Irishman films both were released on disc by Criterion. Knights of Sidonia was released by Section 23.

Well that’s a relief. It’s good to hear there’s chance, probably even a likely chance that it could happen. Thanks for giving me some semblance of hope for a home video release. For now my Kenshin collection is (mostly) complete

Me too…it’s the only part of my collection that isn’t in Blu-ray. :’( You would think that with Trust & Betrayal, the Motion Picture, and the New Kyoto Arc getting Blu-ray releases something would have happened by now. I guess the anime works dvd boxset will have to suffice. *sigh*

Film 4 is destined to be the least good of the 5 films due to being very crammed but it’s still good. This is how you adapt a manga or anime. 8/10
Nobuhiro Watsuki can go to hell of course. Film 5 will be the last time I interact with a new product that is connected to him. This poor crew did nothing wrong. A shame that the whole IP is now tainted.

I have the UK steelbooks of the first three movies and am hoping the last two are able to get the same treatment as I'd like to have them all uniform. Hoping to catch the last two on Netflix soon as Im npt holding my breathe for any international physical release right now.
