I know its early to start this but we already got a start date for day 8!
![]() It was also announced that the eighth season of 24 will return to the FOX schedule with a two-night, four-hour premiere as part of a special extended primetime on Sunday, Jan. 17 (9:00-11:00 PM ET/PT), immediately following the premiere of HUMAN TARGET. The next installment of the Emmy Award-winning series starring Kiefer Sutherland will unfold in New York City, amidst the shadows of the Statue of Liberty and the United Nations. http://tvbythenumbers.com/2009/05/18...nnounced/18882 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=399Hiwua0J4 Day 8 Trailer Looks like season 8 may be the last since jack has to"survive one more day" Last edited by blu-mike; 11-19-2009 at 07:01 AM. |

I actually disagree with most people here about this season finale.
I have recently watched every episode (within the last 2 months) for the first time. I found this finale to be the strongest. We all know jack is not going to die and is going to come back for some major a** kicking in season 8 and then eventually the movie. The scenes with Tony talking about his unborn son and jack talking to Renee were some of the most powerful scenes in all of 24 (IMO). |

After watching every season of "24", it was the first time I found a finale underwhelming.
It wasn't bad, it just wasn't what one would expect in the final minutes of a season finale for "24". Then again, because I have been teased with cliffhanger "24" finales, I was highly anticipating some sort of final twist/cliffhanger. Last edited by kndy; 05-19-2009 at 05:23 AM. |

my view on the awesomeness of this season is based solely on charcter development.
The only other finale that hit me this hard was season 3, when jack was crying in his car. It was the first time that he expressed true emotion, even after terry died in season 1. Every other finale left us with him being captured, running, or okay with everything he has done. AKA, anticlimactic because we knew he would be back asap. This season was the first one where it left jack in a vulnerable state, begging for forgiveness. One can not overlook that when judging this season. |

Yes. Alan Wilson is the head of the organization. He stayed hidden for so long by having many layers of protections and covers and operatives, etc. Jack's father was most likely on the same level in the organization as Jonas Hodges. And of course Graham Bauer worked for his father. So while it was Graham who had direct contact with Logan, he was operating under Wilson's orders, probably funneled through his father.

What do you think happen in Season 8?
Here are a few of my thoughts.... 1. CTU is rebuilt in NYC (i've heard) 2. Jack becomes the head of CTU and Chloe and the other chick work there 3. Agent Walker becomes the head field agent (Like Jack used to be) 4. Jack is crippled from the disease Any other thoughts or ideas...? |

Aside from the unborn child stuff I really enjoyed the Tony/Alan Wilson thing, the reveal of his motives was predictable but cool. I think maybe shuffling the final scenes around would have really helped the impact of things. Kim/Jack in the hospital THEN show Agent Walker going in to torture Wilson, that would've been a much stronger note to end on. My favourite endings... Season Five: Jack gets kidnapped Season Four: Jack fakes death Season One: Jack discovering his wife/Nina Season Three: Jack breaks down Season Six: Jack gets closure from Audrey Season Two: Palmer gets attacked Season Seven: Jack in hospital, Walker beginning Bauer transition Seriously, despite being on the bottom it was good, but relative to 24... a below average ending. Compared to other TV (this one shat on Prison Break's finale) it was great, compared to 24... below average. There. ![]() |
