H4 is my favorite Halloween movie of all time.

I know Farrands said he wanted something like that in the P-Cut commentary but to me Michael has to remain ambiguous. He has to be a human with a slight supernatural edge so that you aren’t sure if there’s more to him or not. He’s a complete enigma who seems more than a man but we don’t know why. At least in the P-Cut you can chalk it up to Michael being confused when Tommy says “Samhain.”

I read Farrands’ first draft and I enjoyed it, but there are overtly supernatural elements in it that I just can’t get on board with. I think the basic plot of the film is okay since he was left with the mess from H5 that required him to explain who the Man in Black was and what the Thorn symbol meant, but it went too far IMO. I think a better idea would be to have the cult just be a bunch of weirdos who worship some deity and they think Michael was picked by their deity to restore balance to the planet by killing people, so they captured him. But it’s never confirmed that they’re correct. Just have them be obsessed and then at some point Michael escapes and Sartains them all.

I also never would’ve had the cult kidnap Jamie. After what she went through in H4 and H5, having her kidnapped for several years and impregnated is too much. And then she’s either drilled to death (theatrical cut) or shot on the head with a pistol James Bond-style (producer’s cut). Poor girl went through hell.

I agree. H1, HII, and H4 is the best trilogy. I also like H20 as the third film if I’m in an H20 mood. H20 has a very Scream-ish feeling but I don’t really mind because I like Scream. H20 was also the first Halloween movie I saw in theaters and I remember the audience going nuts at the end.

I totally see where you're coming from, but to be fair, by H6 there was no "wondering" left if he was (slightly) supernatural or not. By that point he had done and survived SO much stuff, no normal man would be able to come even a little bit close to doing or surviving what he did. So a little special effect to go along with "Samhain" I feel would be appropriate in that moment in that film. I mean, within the context of that story it would make total sense. And it would be the perfect release to the build up of him being cursed by Thorn.

It beats the nothing we got, or a "confused Michael." lol

I'm not a collector but I know that many around here would be horrified with the way I treat my disc's... when I'm running a marathon, they pile up on top of the player with the boxes on the floor until I'm done. At various times, I've had my ALIEN, TARANTINO, HALLOWEEN and F13 box sets strewn around the room among the beer cans until my wife comes down to clean up..

Trying too hard to sound edgy, dude. 'I'm not a collector," yet you own tons of discs and box sets. That's a collector. And stacking discs on a player certainly isn't the same as using them for beer coasters.

We have different opinions on what it means to be a collector. To me it's the dude that preorders 10 copies of the same title to obsess over how dinged up the corners will be. Back in the day, with beautiful gatefold art work, I used to be more enamoured with the packaging of things like Laserdiscs. Now it's all about the presentation when the lights go down.
Now, I could not give a rat's ass about the box it came in as I know that I will be buying a new version of the movie before I even get a second viewing of the one the "collector's " are obsessing about on these forums.
The distributors purposefully mess up audio and video or leave out some special feature each time so that we will buy the next iteration. You're only a lemming if you haven't clued in yet and are still being so precious about the box.

I’m expecting an announcement on the final listing of features on Tuesday to be honest. Just feel like that’s a pretty common day for them to drop info.

Halloween is a masterpiece.
Halloween II is alright.
Halloween III is the best sequel in the franchise.
Halloween IV is alright.
Halloween V is a bit shit.

I don't know about you all but my favorite sequel is definitely Activia.
Laurie Strode's battle against constipation is truly a sight to behold.

I would add Tom Atkins and 1981-era Jamie Lee Curtis in a bad wig still selling the s&!t out of what she was given as major plusses, but I like your style.

lol, yeah. H4 is my all time favorite and what I consider to be the perfect Halloween (Michael Myers) movie. And HIII is my second favorite.
