id have to agree with that except id say its an 8

the more im playing it the more im not really liking hte open world design actually .. it just seems to get a bit tedious sometimes when you have to trek halfway across the map and fight creatures that are far below you and arent worth the time .. but ill still play the heck out of it ..

My only real complaint is that you have to be way overpowered to complete escort quests which take you into dungeons/caves, because your moronic ally will ALWAYS charge forward, attracting half the cave. If you don't have the power to wipe them all out pretty much instantly BOOM, dead escort, and you are done.

No need to go back for escorts, if you get far enough away they warp to you. This trivializes outdoor escorts, because you can always have them trailing behind you far enough back that they are in no danger.

Then when you enter a cave they charge ahead and get swarmed.

Cool

Don't know much about this game, but it reminds me of the Champions of Norrath series, which was awesome. Is it anything like those?

If so Its a definite buy for me.

In the original sacred there was a escort mission between 1 city and the next, there was a random chance you would run into a minotaur that could 1-3 shot you insta kill and 1 shot anyone in the caravan...

From then on I was more careful on escort missions..

Yes and no, Its much more larger scale then Champions of Norrath because you have a full world instead of a more linear world that Norrath had.

Consider it dynamic rpg over linear rpg.

I changed my mind on this title. Seems like the developers just left the annoying cliches in the game to ramp up the difficulty.

I love the only sacred ive played which was the first one, simply called called Sacred which I have for pc..

The barbarian was a little too overpowerful since he could dual (2) two handed swords at the same time..

Wow, what a great game! I (only) put in about 10 hours over the weekend and it was fantastic. I still don't even fully understand all the customizations though. I just re-read the entire instruction manual and I think I got most of it but it is complex. I'd much rather have it be complex than simple and rigid though!

One thing is still bugging me though, why are some of the items in my inventory lighter colored than the rest? I have a few runes that are all for the same skill yet one or two of them is lighter colored than the rest, why is that?

Actually guest or he can use another user profile (user accounts on the local ps3) if that other account has a character it can load it up or he can create a new character and save it to that profile.

Teleportation is your friend.

Btw if you find that your having problems with a escort mission make sure to take them after you have already been to that city.

That way you can hit select and teleport to that town and they teleport with you, makes them escort missions really easy..

Ive done this on several escort missions accept it and then teleport to town find the person I need to talk to you and grab the reward.

So remeber if a quest needs you to escort someone to a town make sure you already have been to that town and activated the portal.

Cheers.

yeah but you cant teleport ot new areas ..

i gotta say though im kinda letdown with the online setup .. me and a buddy tried playing and basically you have to be within certain levels of each other .. which i understand why they do it .. but makes it kinda hard to play online if you and the other guy have very different play habits .. we bascially both had to make new characters to play together ..

So you guys don't know what the lighter colored items are in the inventory? I was thinking that it might mean that they are better than what you currently have equipped??

I think 4 is like epic gear, 3 is set items, 2 are enchanted items 1 slightly enchanted items and 0 = regular gear.

So Low end to High end. 0-4

But really go to the place they want to go first then come back and accept there quest. Ive done 90% of my escort quests by hitting select.

Oh btw I bought the game during this weekend so now I have sacred 2 for the ps3.

See theres a problem with the word better then what you have equiped.. In all honesty usually the gear you find yourself using are ones that have enchantments that compliment your character and what your trying to do with that character.

Sometimes you find yourself picking the gear with a little less armor because it has a enchantment worth to you more then the extra armor, such as say pole arms +1 or something when you figure the bonus to damage and say you are a pole arms character like me, the extra damage may be worth having less armor points.

Consider it cost and effect when you look at gear, look for the gear that compliments your character.

Sometimes before you sell gear you should constantly compare it with what you have, and do your own cost benefit to determine should you keep it or discard it like yesterdays trash.

I actually play as a Inquisitor with a energy gun and a halbred, my specility is pole arms, I use the energy gun when things annoy me and both weapons tie in with my characters 2 physical special moves so it works out.

My usualy combo is the suck move followed by lightning which is my crowd cleaner, my other nasty is my spell that summons another me that gets whatever gear I had at the time, thus if I had the energy gun I now have a ranged ally temp, I usually only use the one buff that increases my attack and defense exponetially with the amount of things I kill.

Lighter colored means they are new and you have not equipped them/seen them yet.

This includes having seen/tried an identical item, which is why the non-magic items often don't have the lighter shade even though you haven't done anything with them yet.
