I've never been a Superman fan. I found the 1978 movie stupid. Never read any of the comics and always found the character lame. But I enjoyed watching the animated series on KidsWB when I was a kid. Because of the talent of the filmmakers and the medium. Will definitely be getting this.

Fantastic news to see this finally confirmed. This finishes all the main line DCAU shows on bluray. (Static and the zeta project were spinoffs done by different creative teams.)

I really hope they corrected the episode 3 error we saw in the HD stream on HBO Max and do include all the missing audio commentaries.

Just waiting for the pre-order to go up.

I'm a decent Supes fan but something that irks me but doesn't affect my love for this series is the power levels of Supes. They limited him, and I think it helps out in the storytelling.

Extras ???? ...They Deserve Much Better than that. There is just 17 of them ! Why can't they release a 1 Disc Bluray of those 1941-1942 Theatrical Shorts ??? I have the 2 Disc DVD since day 1. The 1950's TV Series needs a Bluray release too !

If be all for that. Hell, I'd buy a 4k set if they offered it. I suspect there's a reluctance since they're in the public domain.

Aren't the Fleischer shorts public domain at this point?

WB might have the negatives/interpositives to do a remaster in their vault but may be worried that all that work would be copied and put out by another public domain company looking for a quick buck.

WB has had HD scans for years. I think one or two may have shown up in HD on a Superman film collection and/or YouTube.

This statement is the one that frustrated me the most in the press release. If you're touting a lack of grain, it doesn't bode well for me.

I really love this show and watched it a lot growing up, but I wish for once I could see the show look like, well, the actual film it was shot on.

They are all on the Superman Anthology Blu Ray Set. With the Reeve films & Superman Returns. I think they are in HD? I know they are on there but I’m not 100% sure if they are in HD

This was my concern exactly after reading that press briefing. How bad was the DNR on the Batman TAS Blu-ray? I definitely recall DNR there, but detail still seemed quite strong

They were in HD on the short lived DC Universe service, and they did show one of the HD shorts in front the "Superman: The Movie (1978)" one night only even in 2019/2020 (can't remember exactly when). Hopefully they'll show up in the inevitable 4K Blu-ray set of all the Superman films.

not very happy with the cover art. It doesn't make a difference i will buy it but it looks cheap to me. Kind of odd that they aren't doing anything special for this one like they did with the batman releases.

I have the Batman and Beyond releases without the Fuknos so I’m pleased with the matching packaging. Even if it didn’t match I wouldn’t get too anal over it since the Justice League releases are such a disaster as far as packaging consistency.

If you own the full DCAU you will have Static Shock and The Zeta Project on DVD. The DVD of the Birds of Prey TV show for the Gotham Girls web series plus 3 movies that aren’t collected in the sets. I have the steelbooks of Batman and Harley Quinn and Justice League vs The Fatal Five but Mystery of the Batwoman is in a standard case. It doesn’t bother me. I’m just excited to binge them all together since Static and Zeta weren’t readily available the last time I watched everything.

I would put it in the "medium tier" category. There's still loads of detail, but there can definitely be more.

The s**t compression doesn't help either.
