Pretty fast turnaround considering F9 came out 4 years after F8.

Fast 9 would have also originally come out 2 years after Fast 8 if Universal hadn't prioritised releasing the Hobbs and Shaw movie first.

Fast 4 2009
Fast 5 2011
Fast 6 2013
Fast 7 2015
Fast 8 2017
Hobbs and Shaw 2019

2 years is pretty much the standard for this franchise (covid not withstanding) so it's not so much a fast turnaround, but more business as usual.

Ah that explains it. I guess 3 movies in 3 years would have been a bit much.

I wonder if they will ever end this franchise, i could see them trying it with a whole different group of actors trying to cash in.

I still say the 1st of course and the 3rd are the best in the franchise, all the others have been nothing but corney generic action flicks imo.

They do make bank though which i guess in today's Hollywood that is all that matters.

I'd really like to see them bring the timeline to current times (I think the F&F timeline is still 10 years behind) and make Dom's kid and Brian/Mia's kid street-racing teenagers.

The timeline's caught up. It just has a lot of holes in it.

Maybe after they finish the main story they could do prequels with a young Dom.

Yeah I heard about that Fast of the Furious years ago. Universal had to buy the rights for the title.

Parts 12 and 13 will also be part of the franchise's single final chapter, probably.
