I love my Acer laptop. Can't wait to get an upgraded one with a built in BD-ROM drive.

Yaaaaaaayyyy!! Speaking of Acer, I saw an Acer notebook on QVC Sunday night. It was "Today's Special Value" this past Sunday. No, it did not have a Blu drive, but I thought I'd share what I saw.

I'm not surprised at all. Acer has released BD notebook (in UK) since December 2006. Reviewed by WhatLaptop UK.
I think BDA should sack HP from Board of Director and replace it with Acer.
HP did not do anything with BD (except business laptops, and some pavilion desktop models), while acer who is clearly not member on December 2006, released BD notebook

BTW, somebody in my family is getting acer laptop tomorrow. We put it on reserve since a week ago.

Absorbtion is a silent process. That sucking sound you might hear is Paramount and Toshiba.

That disgusting crunching sound is the music of DVD's going through the garbage disposal unit.

Eh, maybe we don't have to throw them out. Maybe Borat's home land will take them.

Exactly. Notice how at most retail stores have Blu-ray End caps (shelving on the edge of the aile which can be easily seen by customers walking on main walkways, while HD DVD's are placed way in the back. Out of sight out of mind.

I wish that HD DVD group would just roll over and die already. It's futile, Blu-Ray is destined to replace DVD as the new format for media.

I noticed that Toshiba has comercials for it's HD DVD player. blu-ray should have comercials too, decribing the big advantage of Blu-ray to ignorant masses. The capacity diffrence will be more than enough.

Commercial slogans :

Why get 30GB, when you can get 50GB?

Blu-ray has Burners and recorable media to record your own Blu-ray movies or store an entire binder of CDs to a single Blu-ray disc, there are no such burners availible for HD DVD.

Blu-ray is scalable and can be improved to a max of 200GB in future. HD DVD is already obsolete technology that can't be scaled any more.

HD-DVD would have been great as a SuperBit disc. They could have done the dual format disc and sell movies for about a buck more. Who could argue the logic? Heck, it would make a fine format if HDTV's only did 720p. Space would not have been such an issue. In other words, it is still a day late and a dollar short.
