Meh just bought the Standard Japanese version, so I have it on blu-ray WITH Fly Me to the Moon and still have my old ADV set with subs and dub. I'm good. I've had Der Mond (and another one I think) so I'm good on Art Books too, plus the manga.

That's what we get for assuming there was no way it would sell out due to the price. But this is one GKIDS' more popular posts on social media I've noticed so maybe that should've been a sign.

I went for the AL release but I may wind up cancelling since I'm not sure they'll honor it, i think I prefer a Region A set for reasons and I kinda wanna see what the other sets offer. I don't need the older dubs since I still have my dvds and I'm fine with SD if I have FMttM on them.

It's been mentioned that there will be a less limited edition revealed in a week? Where was it stated that they would reveal another edition in a week? 300 was a bit steep for me, so I hesitated and it sold out.

so as someone who checks this thread out once a week, I apparently missed this. is it the only version were getting or is just the big set with the posters. will this come out again for regular stores or did I miss it for good.

Gonna see what the other versions look like in 10 days but I might end up doing this as well. If I'm paying that kinda money might as well get what's important for an Evangelion release.

In 10 days they will announce other versions that will most likely go to all stores. That most people will be happy with price wise.

I've been thinking about going the Japanese release as well. I'd really like to have FMttM. I change my mind a lot and could go with the collectors edition or maybe it'll be a steelbook release, either way no FMttM is such a hard pill to swallow.

Plus we'll eventually get a priced down release in the US.

I knew it was gonna sell out fast but I didn't think this fast. This set and devilman crybaby are going on the top of my anime shelf. Such a gorgeous looking set. Only negative for me is that the OA episodes of 21-24 are not included, but its not a deal breaker, neither is FMTTM, it's simply unrealistic to expect it in this licensing environment.

Before anybody cancels their pre-order, it's worth mentioning that there's a possibility that the "Classic" ADV dub might be exclusive to the Ultimate Edition. Notice how they threw in the word BONUS on the product page;

It's also worth noting that the "Classic" ADV dub has it's own set of discs which is a very, very peculiar thing. (Personally, I've never seen something like this happen before)

I ordered from All The Anime as well. 99% sure they'll honor it.

Gundam Seed was similar. The collector’s editions were the only way to have the original version while the HD Remastered version is getting standalone releases. Not exactly the same, but similar.
