I'm not sure that's an unpopular opinion if you compare IMDb score, Tomatometer score and audience score on RT, overall score Letterboxd, percent of likes from Google users, the Metacritic user score and the average percentile on Criticker. Ready Player One (2018) has a higher Metascore (64 vs. 62), but overall from the sources I have checked, everything else leans the other way for the moment.

It’s easy to forget sometimes that when it comes to movies and TV, people like us exist in our little bubble and we aren’t exactly a balanced representation of the wider audience. Popularity, as in the state or condition of being liked, admired, or supported by many people, isn’t necessarily measured in terms of scores by a relative minority of the audience population. If you went out into the street and asked 100 average joes and janes, more would most likely know about RPO than Imaginationland, and have never heard of, and don’t give two monkeys about IMDb scores.

I think a lot more people know about South Park.

But if you can hit the streets and come back with some useful results, that would be great!

We’ll never know, but to be clear, it’s the specific episodes we were talking about, not just a generic awareness about South Park. In any case, I’m sure you’re smart enough to get the point.

Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery is one of my favourite comedies. It's hilarious and endlessly rewatchable. The Spy Who Shagged Me is inferior, but still really good in its own right. Goldmember is alright, but it's easily my least favourite of the trilogy, and one I rarely revisit.
