You mean the one where
[Show spoiler]they do the face off thingy that was supposed to be in the "leaked" script?

Yeah where
[Show spoiler]they would have transfered him to Marcus' body and he would be a cyborg for the other two films.

Saw it yesterday at the Grauman's Chinese theater but unfortunately do to some bad timing we had to sit in the front row. Haven't done that since the Tomorrow Never Dies premiere. Needless to say the experience sucked and I can't really comment much with what was on screen. Those seats should really be outlawed.

From what I did manage to grasp, I'm still on the fence as to whether I liked it or not. The story was a nice change from the 3 prior movies of "terminator gets sent back, protector gets sent back, they battle". But change in of itself isn't good, you still need to back it up with a fleshed out story and that is where this movie falls apart. That and Batman...I mean Bale acting like John Connor. I think he stepped into the world of 'overrated' by showing that for these types of movies, he really only has one voice, one way of acting. It was the same character as batman, hell it was the same character as Reign of Fire.

Sam Worthington on the otherhand did shine. It will be interesting to see what happens to him once Avatar explodes.

Anyway I'm going to see it again friday, this time from a proper viewing distance. I will say that the sound design was pretty cool. I liked the new sound of the machines, especially the harvestor.

This movie looks more like Road Warrior instead of Terminator. And that post-apocalyptic 7-11 made me think of Kevin Costner in The Postman.

That Harvester makes a weird sound. I watched that clip on Pizza Hut's website. I dunno, that plus the Transformers motorcycle Terminators and you're not quite sure what your watching. Transformers? Terminator? Road Warrior?

Guess I'll find out tomorrow.
Its actually called Termiformers Beyond Cyberdyne

...I just had to...still looking forward to it!

No better than a Resident Evil movie. I liked Wolverine a heck of a lot more. There was nothing original to it. Ithink it would have been a better movie before Bale - who I usually like - got involved so heavily. The john conner story doesn't work and there's not enough of the other story.

I haven't watched it yet but I have a question, where is Derek Reese in all this? He should be alive in 2018, shouldn't he?

Terminator Salvation cannot acknowledge Sarah Connor Chronicles because it ignores T3.

Now that TSCC has been canceled I don't think any of that story line means anything now. It's like none of it happened.

No, if it did Kate Connor wouldn't have been in Salvation.

Aw that's messed up, I even work on Kirtland base. How did I miss hearing about this???

One day I saw some big fireballs and stuff coming from the set, and some crazy lookin' 2-bladed helicopter thingy flying around in and out of the smoke. It flew right over my smartcar. I was like woah.

I haven't taken the time to read through this thread yet, but yeah... this movie sucked... especially the ending. Finally saw a bad Christian Bale movie.

looks like this movie is quickly becoming a love or hate film

i personally loved it
i tend to love alot of movies critics dislike (F&F, At World's End, etc.)
so far its my favorite film of the year

Terminator
Trek
Fast and Furious
Wolverine
Mall Cop

those are all i've seen in theaters this year

unlike the reviews, i thought bale did a real good job of what i wanted connor to be
but to agree with most reviews, i thought worthington was great as marcus

and as far as the series goes, it absolutely crushes T3 imo, and probably was better than T1 for me (not saying it was a better film, just that i enjoyed it more) and am not sure i liked it more than T2 or not, they hard to compare for me

I haven't seen this yet, but after reading some reviews and seeing clips from the movie, Im slowly starting to lose interest in this project. Im just undecided now if I want to see it, we'll see what happens.

I saw it last night. I realy enjoyed it. I actually thought Bale did a good job. I think a lot of the critisism comes from the Cameron version of the future opposed to the McG version.
The way I look at it is that this film takes place 11 years before Cameron's future vision. The "lasers" and prowling at night only has not really begun yet. I really like how the movie has a very serious tone. No jokes just wall to wall action.
I have two complaints about the film. First it felt imcomplete in a couple spots. By that I mean it went from point A to B a little too Quickly. I expect a Director's Cut on Blu to have at least 25 minutes of extra character building and plot. My other complaint is while action certainitly was not lacking, I wanted to see more man vs t-600/t800s. I had a vision of a civil war type stand off with them facing off againts other, just a plain flat out massacre.
As for the PG-13 rating. I did not mind. I personally feel that the only reason there was no R rating is because I do not think there was one curse word the entire movie.
Overall I give it a B+
T1 - A+
T2 - A-
T3- C
