Funny enough this popup add only comes up on my phone where it is most annoying.
I would totally pay a membership fee to get rid of it.

For those with Android TV's and/or STB (Sony TV's, Nvidia, etc.) there may be a new feature finally added: Refresh Rate Switching (here). If you you watch integer frame rate content and bothered by dropped frames this may provide relief. If you watch integer frame rate content and do not notice dropped frames then just ignore this post.

I really hope the 4K release isn't canceled. A UK preorder link has already been posted.

Recently purchased 5 titles and Indiana Jones UHD BD box set. Box set and one other other title had codes. Seems everyone is cutting back. Trial periods have been eliminated or cut back, my recent Apple TV 4K purchase has only 3 months of Apple+.
And so it begins. The coming generations are going to get a hard smack in the face when they have realized the "ease" of handing over all rights to the man came at price.

It’s not even about future generations, it’s about even HT enthusiasts jumping ship. I see it all the time now, when a film is mentioned, it’s a case of when is this out on Vudu or Apple? It’s very sad but people want their short term fix rather than waiting for a quality product. It’s expected in the mainstream, but when it’s happening from so called HT enthusiasts, you know you are in trouble.

Regardless, disc until the end for me.

When UltraViolet (UV) was announced some years ago I urged folks to read the TOS/EULA that I knew would be required when signing up. Don’t believe hardly anyone did then and does now.

I am surprised this site endorses the selling and buying of digital codes included with disc. The sale of said codes is still in limbo by the courts (Disney and Rebox settled) but the redemption of a purchased disc code is a very clear act of fraud because you must state you or some one in your family household owns the physical copy.

Don’t believe codes are included with disc outside the US because elsewhere the studios would be required to offer a refund to the purchaser if they did not want to redeem said code. In the first court ruling that was required of Disney but that soon changed and we will never know what the settlement was.

For us, something about this one was amiss and PFRV = 0. As always, folks should view and decide for themselves. Do have Altered States on BD (also had on LaserDisc and DVD).

Default Apple TV 4K 64GB (2021)

@ Vilya: my comments (with links) on the Apple TV:

Dolby Atmos: Have Atmos with Apple iTunes ● Amazon Prime ● Disney+ ● HBO Max ● Movies Anywhere. No Atmos via Vudu. Have not tried with Google or Netflix. For non Atmos, the ATV will decode the audio and send to your audio device as PCM.

Video: Mine is set for frame rate matching and it works. Smooth play from 23.976, 24 and 25 FPS Netflix test files. There will be a small amount of blank screen time if you switch content with different frame rates.

The setup is pretty much straight ahead and similar to other streaming devices.

Remote: Not useable by me. Programed my URC MX-980 to control the Apple by IR (screenshot below). Used URC database, Pronto type hex codes and a couple of keys learned from my Inteset INT-422-3 remote (here), site (here). The Inteset could control your AVR, TV, Oppo and Apple TV. It is a JP1 remote so you could change its programming.

InFuse: Have not installed and used, yet!

Minus: No IR or IP shortcut to apps on the Apple TV. The Roku has several making app switching a breeze.

So, hello Apple TV, goodbye Roku Ultra from my equipment rack. Have a Mac Mini ordered so I can setup the Apple Playback HUD. Note: I took this info and created a PDF. Let me know if a copy is desired.

Add: Also have a small Arteck HB030B Bluetooth keyboard to use when typing is needed. Paired without problems.

I use to sell codes here and there until I thought about it a bit. Why am I going to promote selling something that actively competes against the physical save state that I love the most?

I would rather give that stuff away then make any money off of it. It is the principal more than anything to me.

So what I do is just redeem them and never use them. If one day I sell my collection, maybe I will watch the digital version if it is around. To me, those codes aren't worth squat no matter what I can make off of them.

So how much money have you guys spent on streaming this month and how much would you have spent if you had bought or rented what you streamed instead?

I'm kind of curious how much value people actually extract from streaming.

I've only bought one 4K film on streaming this month. I paid $7.99 for the digital 4K of Wrath of Man. There's no 4K disc of it anywhere on Earth. The price was right to have a 7.99 placeholder under the 4K disc gets released somewhere.

In the earlier days of UV I gave away several hundred codes, mostly to local library personnel. Seemed harmless at the time but its not, it means some one has access to content that a lot of people spent time on and are not being compensated. I stopped giving my codes away and just redeem them now. Just wish all the codes included a QR code.

I take it you intended to say EST streaming this month? For us, 0.00$. For many years now we have Netflix BD by mail. We buy all titles on BD or UHD BD that have a PFRV ≥ 1.

In the pay TV category we have Amazon Prime, BritBox, Disney+, HBO Max and Netflix. Disney+ and HBO Max we start for a month or two then suspend, sometimes for months.

No what I wanted to know basically was how much money you spend on streaming this month so like 10 dollars for netflix 8 dollars for disney plus, 12 dollars for hulu etc and what you actually watched this month for example you watched season 6 of hunter x hunter which would have cost like 20 dollars to own. or you streamed weeds over 2 months but you could have bought the series for about 20 dollars.

basically I payed 18 dollars for Netflix this month but I watched 4 tv series which would have cost probably around 80 dollars to buy instead.

IMO you would want the price of getting what you got from the subscription service to be 4 or 5 times higher on average then what you would have had to pay for the service or the service is not worth having.

I spend about $100 - $120 for all of the services (a la carte) that I subscribe to. I also tend to binge shows and watch a quite a few films, so my ROI is clear. I also tend to pay for them for the year in order to save money. I also bundle them up when I can to save even more.

I honestly couldn't tell you how much I spend on the streaming services each month. I've got NETFLIX, PRIME with SHUDDER, DISNEY and my local cable company has lots of VOD stuff that I think covers a lot of stuff that are on American services not available in Canada.

Between myself, my wife and my kids there's an eclectic mix of stuff that gets watched in my house. I don't think it's an onerous amount. My wife often points out that my alcohol bill is far greater...
