I really like that. But unless they're remastering the damn movie, it's a waste of everyone's time.

No just a waste of your time.

People will be buying this mainly for the SteelBook. It's a Blu-ray release that already exists.

It's not a 4K edition either so again a lot of people won't be buying this for the disc.

Now the flood of "why didn't they release a 4K edition? No 4K, no buy" posts should be coming along soon

Oh, i'm sure they will. In droves. But if it's not remastered, it's a waste of anyone's time, whether they care to admit that or not . The existing presentation of PT&A is rightly regarded as one of the biggest steaming turds on the format. This would be simply rolling said turd in glitter. Nice and sparkly, yes.....but it still stinks.

And a remaster is surely in this movie's future (even if just 1080p). Not only is it one of the crown jewels in Paramount's catalogue but there's a remake/tie-in on the horizon with Will Smith/Kevin Hart which only increases its odds of being remastered.

I hope to hell it has been done for this steelbook, but if not, it can't be too far away. We'll know soon enough when they reveal the specs.

Again, I don't get why you say it's a waste of everyone's time...if they aren't buying the SteelBook to watch the disc.

The 5 seconds it will take to order this will be 5 seconds well spent along with the 18 bucks.

Pre-ordered. At $17.99 it's a pretty darn good price. I made the mistake of missing out on the $16.99 The Thing 4K last month won't miss this one.
