Manufactures know 100Base-T ports are way more than needed for streaming video from the internet. If you have Wi-Fi 802.11AC then you can compare between the two. 100Base-T will max out ≤ 100 Mbps and the 802.11AC could be between 433 Mbps and 6.93 Gbps. You should not see any difference.
I have 300 Mbps internet service, my Apple TV 4K (2021), Nvidia Shield Pro and Oppo UDP-203 have 1000Base-T ports, all other devices have 100Base-T ports. The internet streaming quality is the same be it 100 or 1000 port device. Playing UHD BD rips does require a 1000 port or 802.11AC. |

For me it's more an issue of stability. I have a reasonable internet speed but sometimes it will go out for a minute or two. It would be so frustrating to be watching a movie and have that happen.

Yes, very much so. Sure hope he can return soon.
I am going to show my better half my favorite forums and threads in case I become incapacitated or expired she can post my situation. Maybe Vilya could do something similar with his sister. It will be 9 years on the 2nd of next month that our cyber friend, Kosty, passed away. Soon I am going to donate the cost of some tree planting in SC forest in the name of Daniel Kostyshak from his friends at Blu-ray.com |

Well you do need a good ISP with at least 50+Mbps, and solid equipment and Ethernet connections. I have 75Mbps Symmetrical Fiber. Cable Providers have an Archaic Load Balance Distribution Network.

I guess it could be an issue, but I haven't run into anything like this. For VoD I have Amazon and Vudu, and Netflix has Content to access but I don't have any problems. If you have trouble with a Provider let me know who it is and the problems you're having. If a Provider is having problems they should address and fix them, otherwise get out of the business. IMO the majority of the problems are User, ISP, or CDN related!

I have mostly iTunes and it really comes down to personal space issues for me. I've moved three states in the last four years with the most recent one from Virginia to Arizona and I like that I don't have to box up truckloads of physical media and haul it across the country. Still I have about 800 Blu-rays sitting in a storage locker on the other side of the country, but I used to have thousands.
