i thought T3 was crap compared to this one

the only two good things i can remember are Nick Stahl (sp?) doing a good job even though most people thought he sucked

and Arnold being...well Arnold

besides that, the movie was crap

i much rather this one over T3

i was also glad they
[Show spoiler] pulled off the arnold cameo

Default Terminator: Salavation

Didn't they complain that the Sarah Conner Chronicles was too family oriented, so they yanked the show off the air?

The hit on this movie is it isn't human enough, just all action.

It seems to remind me of AVP: Requiem. People get all excited about action sequences, but forget that we are going to watch a story unfold, build, and explode. There is a place for raw action for sure, but without a story to start and build, what's the point?

Sarah Conner Chronicles WAS a family drama, that's why it should have been saved. Terminator: Salvation lacks the human story and that's why it should not have been saved.

I read where they had a script and idea all ready to go, then McG wanted to get Bale on board, who says they got a writer who was given permission to write it the way "we" wanted.

I just wonder how much of WE is HIM.

Which made absolutely ZERO sense and was just in there for the sake of being in there. A mess, like most of the movie.

how did it not make sense?
they showed
[Show spoiler]the production notes/specs of the T-800 early in the movie, establishing that the t-800s were being manufactured by then (even if on a small scale) and at the point of the cameo they were in the Skynet manufacturing plant (as shown by the rest of the t-800s getting assembled) and connor got attacked by one

its not like the terminator just showed up somewhere a terminator shouldn't have even been

well, I may be in the minority, but I enjoyed T3. I remember going to the theater and thinking it would be crap, so maybe the low expectations played a role.

but overall, i liked how it fit into the overall story, the ending with the moments leading up to skynet realizing itself and about to come online were cool, action was good enough.

i will admit there was a sense of familiarity with this one compared to 2. And, when compared to the first 2 it is weaker. But, that really isnt fair considering that at the time, T2 was a breakthrough achievement in moviemaking. That truly was the last time I can think of where I left the theater thinking that was the coolest thing I had ever seen.

I didnt think it was great but I liked 3 enough. The only part I really hated was John connor being such a *****

Well, I'm not saying he showed up somewhere he shouldn't have been...but it was still random. One t-800...just standing there...naked...perfectly lit (cue music).
It was so set up I could puke...but instead I just gave it one of these:

i didnt expect it to happen right there, i expected it once they got to the assembly line part later in the factory
i thought he was looking at
[Show spoiler]kyle's cell or something, and then arnold (and some other guy's body ) busted out the cell

i liked it a lot

but to each his own

And has it been brought up in this thread that someone forgot to tell Bale to drop the Batman voice? Because that was in the first sentence of the review I read today.

i noticed it in one scene, but that was it
can't remember which scene though, all i remember is it was a scene where he was out of breath atleast midway through the movie
i was thinking to my self he sounded exactly like he did when he was talking to harvey right after stopping him from shooting the guy tied to the chair

my wife will slap me if i take her to watch a movie with the batman voice. she still thinks it ruined TDK.

I was watching it a few days ago and it's embarrassing. they should release a re-dubbed version. makes me cringe

It was pretty much the whole movie. Although he didn't have a ton of dialogue, it seems like he got the direction: "be emotionless."

You tell me: http://rapidshare.com/files/235723917/bale.mp3

I'd agree, Bale finally made a bad movie. The more I talk about this film, the more I dislike it.

we talking batman begins voice or tdk voice
because he sounded alot raspier in tdk than begins
i loved the begins batman voice
tdk's, yea not so much, but i can deal with it

i'd have to watch it again, but i didn't get batman from him at all in this film except that one scene

either way, i wouldn't care

tdk voice, it was "ok" in Begins(which my wife prefers over TDK) but in TDK it was straight up retarded and distracting.

Sometimes I'll watch TDK just for the Joker or action scenes and try to ignore any of Bale talking as Batman, that's how bad it is

wow
it never bothered me really
i mean it doesn't sound great to me but it doesn't ruin the movie either

but the guy from the animated series is still the definitive batman voice for me no matter how much i like bale as bats/wayne

agreed. the animated guy had a great voice.

I also like to imagine a young Alec Baldwin circa Beetlejuice playing Batman in Tim Burton's 1989 version

Yes, its saving grace. I was impressed at how many times the surrounds were used with great effect. There was lots of dialogue in the surrounds as well. It was so lifelike, I thought it was people around me talking.

I think it also blew one of the speakers on the left.

Perhaps it's just my luck lately with surrounds.

i just saw it and liked it alot

yes it wasnt the greatest movie ever, but for a 4th installment in a franchise it was pretty good

3 questions though im left with

Can Marcus live now without a heart since he is a terminator
Is Connor now a superhuman of sorts since he has organs from a terminator
Will they use that radio frequency thing to shutdown the rest of the skynet camps
