Is that for the new set or the old High Octane set? I recognize the logos right away as being from Canada and not France. There is also what looks like shrink wrap on the bottom left corner.

The UPC also pulls up this:

https://www.barcodelookup.com/883929563890

Edit:

Another tell tale sign it is not the France release is Ultraviolet. That was shut down in 2019 and France releases do not get digital copies

EDIT: Yeah, I think that's the back cover for the previous set.

Yes, it's obviously a Canadian back cover, but I still only believe not just Fury Road being 4K when it actually says so somewhere.

This reminds me of Stanley Kubrick 7 film 4K collection Italian edition. Many thought all the 7 films were in 4K when only 2 or 3 were. It was pretty obvious but poor show from Amazon and the buyers who didn't do their due diligence correctly.

Apparently Warner Bros. will be releasing The Road Warrior on 4K in November for its 40th anniversary.

I'm not saying it's not happening, but is your sole source Geekgab's tweet?

It was part of the slate that a user here posted long ago and before geekgab posted about it. The list also included Shawshank, Godzilla, Willy Wonka, Space Jam, Gravity, etc.

Lucky for me I didn't buy the Kino release. I intended to, just didn't.

I'm honestly just excited to watch Beyond Thunderdome in 4K. Best movie in the franchise.

Barring that this is a 4K release of them all.

I don't get why some appear to regret having bought or are happy not having bought the Kino release: It looks great (and most likely better than what I expect from Warner ), has OG audio, nice/original artwork and the price was decent as well. Really no regrets here at all. (in my case even more so, since I don't like 2 and 3 and would buy both only for the sake of completeness) (let alone that we don't even know, if there actually will be a Warner 4K of the first one)
