Default Best Blu comedies

I just realized that my small (but not insignificant) Blu-Ray collection lacks comedies Since I love a good laugh and truly good comedies are hard to find, any recommendations?? I was thinking about Dan in Real Life (since it was filmed in my hometown and since I like Steve Carell) and Burn After Reading (because of the reviews and I like Roderick Jaynes' work ) PQ/AQ must be good also...no Paul Blart please

Burn After Reading has as good audio/video quality as No Country For Old Men, which were both by the Coens and also made one right after the other. It's reference quality. Great choice for a dark comedy!

It may be going out on a limb, but perhaps try Tropic Thunder. The audio/video quality are top notch and there's laugh out loud parts nearly every minute.

Life of Brian is flat-out revelatory (so long as you don't mind tEh GRAYNEZ!.....it is a 70s movie, after all).

Groundhog Day also looks great for its age.

I'm waiting with bated breath for Dr. Strangelove, too.

In terms of funny movies that also have great PQ/AQ and extras. my list of recomendations would include

Superbad
Tropic thunder
Step-Brothers
40 year old Virgin
Knocked up

Step Brothers in particular is a great addition to a collection because not only is it funny but the bluray is top notch... and if i had to recommend one title that would be it

This is the first BD comedy I got (yesterday!). I'll soon be adding Spaceballs and Fletch (despite the awful review).

Forgetting Sarah Marshall is awesome - though sort of expensive from what I can tell. I keep trying to snag it on eBay. Great movie!

Tropic Thunder to me is a hybrid action/comedy but you're right --- it's fantastic. If it counts as a comedy, then it was my first (sorry Superbad! ).

oh i totally forgot about pineapple exress, and also super troopers, its a lowerbudget movie so the PQ isn't outstanding, but it is a hillarious movie and an upgrade from the DVD

I'd also suggest Fanboys...whenever that hits bluray

Dan in Real Life
Wild Hogs - This gets better with repeated viewings
Tropic Thunder
Night at the Museum - Also improves with repeated viewings

Life of Brian has never looked as good as it does on Blu, still one of my all time favourite films.
Just waiting for the Quest for the Holy Grail release

Yeah, given the low budget of Life of Brian, and the poor DVD transfer (Criterion, no less!), I didn't expect much, but I was blown away.

Holy Grail is rumored for this year, I'm optimistic. Life of Brian is by far the "better" or "smarter" movie, but in terms of sheer hilarity, Holy Grail is the cat's pajamas.

Who here is mentioning Tropic Thunder as a hybrid? It's a straight up farce, with a big budget. But, a complete farce nonetheless.

Great movie.

Well, I have to say one thing, you guys are making it difficult...half of these I had forgotten about. I have never laughed so hard in my life, though, as the part in Young Frankenstein when Wilder is sitting on the ledge and is using the unconscious guy's legs as his legs and has to keep knocking the guy out to keep his legs from moving. Heavily leaning toward this right now
