Yeah, The Condemned & Reservoir Dogs are two other BDs with DTS-HD High Resolution. Its a lossy codec that allows up to 6mbs bit rate but still retains a 1.5mbs DTS standard core track.

Alliance titles have had improper box information in the past - on a very regular basis actually. This is in regards to both sound options, as well as video resolution. I wouldn't be surprised if this disc actually has lossless DTS-HD MA, as every other Alliance title has had. There is also the chance that it is 1080i though, unfortunately. At least the aspect ratio should be right as Fanboys is supposed to be 1.85:1.

As in the box is wrong?

Because it says 1.78:1, so that'd mean the sides are cropped.

Or the video transfer is directly from The Weinstein Company. For 1.85:1 films they open the mattes to 1.78:1 because some companies (Paramount & Warner are others) believe the overscan caused by televisions will correct the framing. However, a lot of HD televisions can correct for overscanning now and display the proper framing.

So you essentially get a little more on the top and bottom.

The 1.85 vs. 1.78 issue is tricky, as different studios handle this differently. Universal and Sony will release actual 1.85:1 transfers, but other studios like WB and Paramount open every 1.85:1 film up slightly to 1.78:1. These transfers aren't cropped - they're actually opened up slightly so you get a little more on the top and bottom. Not optimal, but not terrible in my opinion.

When I said Fanboys was 1.85:1, I was just saying it's about a full 16x9 image, and not a 2.35:1 or 2.40:1 film which could be potentially cropped/opened up by Alliance (which they have a history of doing, like on Se7en and Outlander).
