Maybe if they added a lot of lines like some people would have liked it more. I really wonder why some complain about character development. Everyone knows John Connor. This is the 4th film after all. Had this been the first, okay, they might have a point. I think they did a fine job making the movie.

okay just got back from seeing it and i loved it thought it was awesome movie acting, special effects,were all top notch.i enjoyed the story the pacing all heck loved it thought everything was sweet. also the sound was awesome as well my theater had it set pretty decent so def cannot wait till the blu comes out although i loved this movie the first two are still the best with this in a close second

I had high hopes for this movie.. I thought it was gonna be straight bad ass throughout the movie but it wasnt. It was better than the 3rd but thats it. Not enough action. Dumb story line and machines were basically just standing around like you would see them at an amusement park ride. Disappointing!!!

And whoever said the Fallout 3 comment... That is dead on, I thought of that game as well during scenes of this movie.. Too bad that game rocked and this movie fizzled..

When were machines just "standing around" ? The known terminator models in the movie are not known for being very fast if that is what you mean. I think the cycle terminators was a good addition to give some ground units more speed and mobility.

So what were you actually expecting? Were you expecting Connor to say, "Don't you remember?! Hasta La Vista???!!"

I mean, Connor would have been expecting to see him at some point (added to the fact that when they hacked the computer at the beginning he saw that it was in production already). He gawked for the first second or two.

It really seems to me that most of the complaints I see are ignoring parts of the movie to make their points.

But you're right you could make the argument that they are sequels (even though I still don't consider that they are) - the point I was trying to make which obviously was lost upon you (and which was stated) is that there's a huge difference between those films and the crap coming out today which is geared towards just making money, is pumped out on an almost yearly basis, and more often than not has absolutely nothing to do with the original in terms of who wrote it.

All of which is ultimately irrelevant as I still won't be going to this movie.

Just so you know Terninator Salvation is a continuation of the story not a sequel.

I try to understand that not everyone enjoys the same films I do. With that said, and understand that I loved all three terminator movies, you have to be seriously lacking any sort of entertainment or mental stimulus to enjoy that movie. I was actually angry leaving the theater.

[Show spoiler] Forget the fact that in all terminator movies the future resistance is a rag tag bunch with barely any weapons or food trying to fight back and in this one they are a full army with helicopters and subs, forget that those helicopters and subs run completely off of computers and technology that the machines should control,

forget the fact that the future is supposed to be about John Conners

[Show spoiler] and he is in maybe 5 minutes of the first hour of the movie and we instead have to follow some bad plot about a terminator with a heart,

forget about the fact that

[Show spoiler]{spoilers ahead} a pipe goes through John Conners heart and they do the buddy carry like he was shot in the shoulder . . . the part that was unforgiveable and made me walk was the heart transplant from the terminator that just had his heart damaged by the Arny T1 terminator into John Conner in a frikkin mash tent.

I am scared for those of you that loved this film.

The Terminators are not at the point where they can remotely control computers. That comes later (years later). Remember that this movie happens in 2018 and the Time Displacement Machine is discovered in 2029.

The movie had two main character arcs, that of Marcus and that of John.

[Show spoiler]John's was that he was seem by some as a false profit, he in fact still doubted himself at the beginning of the movie. As the events come to pass, he is slowly moved into the leadership position of the resistance and gains more trust in himself to become that leader.

[Show spoiler]{spoilers ahead} a pipe goes through John Conners heart and they do the buddy carry like he was shot in the shoulder . . . the part that was unforgiveable and made me walk was the heart transplant from the terminator that just had his heart damaged by the Arny T1 terminator into John Conner in a frikkin mash tent.

If I remember correctly (I'll ask others to chime in here) the

[Show spoiler]pipe did not go through his heart. It when through his upper abdomen. His heart wasn't strong enough to sustain the injury and was going to give out. You'll remember that Marcus' heart was strong like that of a horse. I see no problem with what they did. Now, the movie ended before we could see the results of the operation. They will obviously follow up on this with the sequel if there is one.
