Troll 2 is garbage, but the doc is fascinating because it's not about the film itself as it is about the creation of a fandom, and about revisiting one's past.

But there'd be no doc without the film. It's not a "great movie" but I think it's completely enjoyable and watchable. There are blockbuster films I don't find as fun to watch. But to each their own.

those releases are 11 years old! but then again, like slip covers, it just depends what old stock is lying around...

The Steelbook editions have much better transfers, and new extras. It's a shame they're sold out, and Shout are too incompetent to realize they should put out new regular case releases for them, rather than forcing people to choose between buying the older releases, or paying premium to get the Steelbooks from a third party.

Normally i'd agree with you but Scream aren't Arrow. Their Creepshow edition still has the booklet so there's a chance the old Corman movies still do.

As for the steelbooks, they were my number one choices but I can't justify the insane price on ebay. At least these old editions have the same extras and the original cover art (including the awesome Monster european cover for Humanoids!).

Do Scream Factory releases lose booklets eventually? I know slips can be for a limited time, but I'm not sure if the same applies for booklets (like they do for Arrow releases).

I bought one of Shout's 2017 Gkids releases back in July and it was missing a booklet which was advertised on the packaging - however they sent me one in the mail after I asked about it.

But I can't think of many Scream Factory releases that include a booklet that wasn't some special package or something.

If it's advertised on the packaging, then it's probably going to be included in all pressings.

Unfortunately, it's not listed on the packaging nor on shout's website. I'm afraid they might not be included in this case. That'd be too bad, these aren't exactly incredible releases and it would be the bare minimum for shout to still include them at that price.

Keep in mind one thing before ordering. When I upgraded my Humanoids disc I felt that the picture quality was far superior in the steelbook.

Damn, too late. Oh well, at least i'll have the movies. I paid half the price for both Humanoids and Forbidden then I would have for just the steelbook of Forbidden (let alone Humanoids that's being sold for over a 100$ on ebay, ridiculous).
It's indeed very annoying that shout didn't rerelease these in regular edition with the new transfer...

If you can play region B discs, 88Films put out the remastered version of Humanoids, which has all the Shout extras plus a commentary track with Kim Newman.

As one who wants to get Piranha, I agree with this post.

I'm not paying 20 bucks for a release with a dated/lousy transfer.

They might. A long time ago, I got the "Nightbreed" set as a gift, but it was packaged without the booklet (translation: eBay), so I contacted Shout! and, after they verified it was the actual set and not a duplicate/bootleg, they were nice enough to send a booklet to complete the set.

I’d like to ask what everyone’s interpretation of the “limited vinyl with slipcase” from the SF website. Is it just the colored splatter 7” vinyl limited to 4000, then they release a basic black vinyl? or is it the entire 7” vinyl and slipcase limited to 4000 total? Curious.

Sorry if this has been addressed before.
