Guess I'll be keeping the old 2007 disc for the commentary.

I’d like to ask what everyone’s interpretation of the “limited vinyl with slipcase” from the SF website. Is it just the colored splatter 7” vinyl limited to 4000, then they release a basic black vinyl? or is it the entire 7” vinyl and slipcase limited to 4000 total? Curious.

Sorry if this has been addressed before.

I was wrong, it does come with the 2 episodes of Horrors Hallowed Grounds, it's listed on shout's website. So the only things not included from the complete collection on the UHDs are the Deborah Hill commentary and the Halloween 4/5 discussion panel

There's also the "On Location 25 Years Later" featurette that doesn't seem to be included but it's kind of been supplanted by the Horror's Hollowed Grounds Episodes.

If you have the limited edition 2014 Shout release, it has the 2007 commentary on disc two.

Nah, I ended up selling it when shelf space was limited...and I really only love the first three. I do have the Italian LE collection that is more compact and quite nice...and doesn't have those horrid Rob Zombie films.

The 25 Years Later feature is listed on disc 3 of the set. Where it lists the “original Blu-ray color timing presentation.” Not sure how that’s to be interpreted as new or not. As it could be the same transfer from the 2007 or 2013 release?

https://www.shoutfactory.com/product...roduct_id=7669
The Horror's Hollowed Grounds episodes are listed in the extras on the bundled releases and the individual vinyl release of the original film, but not the Movie + poster version of the original. Most likely whoever was editing the page on Scream's site made an error. They will be included: https://www.shoutfactory.com/product...roduct_id=7676

As for the "On Location 25 Years Later" featurette, it isn't listed on ANY of the purchase options, not on disc 3, not anywhere. The "A Cut Above the Rest" Doc is but not the location featurette. It was most likely left off the release all together.

My mistake. Thank you. Yeah, I would hope that is a listing error. Why include one special feature with the vinyl bundle but not the standard release with poster set?

It's a pretty safe assumption that the 2 HHG episodes will be included, the other 4 are included across the HII-H5 releases so it makes sense to me.

So far the releases to keep for missing extras are:

Halloween - 25th Anniversary Edition DVD or the Lionsgate 4K release
*Criterion Audio Commentary
*On Location 25 Years Later Featurette

Halloween 4 - Special Edition DVD
*Alan B. McElroy Commentary
*Halloween 4&5 Discussion Panel

Halloween 5 - Original or Special Edition DVD
*Introduction from Harris & Cornell

The only things not carried over from the box set bonus disc are things that are specific to other movies. Namely: The HHG on H6 and the TV spots for the 2 RZ films. All of which can be found on youtube.

I own the Lionsgate 4K steelbook release. Which basically has all bonuses from the 2007 and 35th anniversary release. I’m about to pull the trigger on Shout’s 4K as it will include everything from their 2014 release that’s specifically related to this movie. As well as a couple new features exclusive to this set.

There's not much left for Shout Factory to release, unless they hire an archivist to dig through all the vaults for more material tied to Halloween. I know there's lost footage out there owned by a collector who wants to be paid heftily for the contents he has. Then you have the OCN reels for the TV Broadcast version and the Extended Edition found in 1999 that went missing.

Should be interesting to see what pops up in 2-7 years when the next milestone anniversaries arrive.

I’ll just be keeping the 2007 disc for the Criterion commentary. I don’t need the On Location featurette. It’s on YouTube, anyway.

Billy Kirkus is the name of the guy who has the unused reels from the original film. I think he and Don May from Synapse Films were hoping to make a deal with Trancis that never materialized. According to May, the powers that be just don't have any serious interest in it. Beyond that I don't know much about it.

But as far as future releases go, anniversary or otherwise, I think it's safe to say that this is it. There'll be newer digital-only releases of these films going forward but not on physical media and probably not with any new extras either. It's the end of an era
