The Chace is 100% the basis for this. I expected no more honestly, but it’s still disappointing that we’re still saddled with that same revisionist crap after all these years.

EDIT: Even the screw up (that seemingly only bothers me) when the theme comes in as Loomis looks down on the lawn at the end is replicated here. Sounds like it jumps into the theme mid-piano key. It’s pissed me off on every permutation of the surround tracks, and it’s still here.
Hooray for "good enough"! I'm extremely doubtful that there will be professional reviews of this release calling out the issues in the audio department. Most are going to give the Atmos Mix 4 stars and completely disregard the mono mix. How is Shout Factory going to address the issue when they get the obligatory "Highly Recommended" reviews. I just hope the rest of the releases fare better (although I am already seeing mixed reactions for Halloween III and the new color grading).

And those who do acknowledge it are going to say it has “oomph” simply because the volume has been cranked up.

Out of curiosity, has anyone received a shipping notice from Scream (or any other outlet for that matter)?

I haven't, says processing on their site. I hope they get my sets with posters shipped out either today or tomorrow or I probably wont have them by the street date. That would be a real bummer.

My thoughts exactly. Being able to snag the original yesterday has helped to tide me over so I really shouldn't complain but it's also wet appetite for the other four films, especially 4 & 5 since those two where the others most in need of an upgrade. I'm just too greedy

The back info doesn’t include the broadcast television cut that was detailed on SF’s website. It only lists the extended cut with TV inserts on disc three. Any explanation of its exclusion or mistake in printing? Much like how the Friday the 13th Part 2 back cover doesn’t have the found gore footage as that was a late addition after set was already produced.

Do we know what transfer the extended cut uses here? Is it the newest transfer along with sd inserts for the extended scenes? Or they just copied and paced their previous transfer?

I've actually never seen the extended cut and fully intend to watch that with Halloween 2 back to back this year, as if I was going back to 1981. :P

It's the exact same list of specs from Screams original announcement back in July. If you look, you'll see the radio spots, tv spots & trailer listed twice; once on disc 2 and again on disc 3, even though they only appear on disc 2.

The broadcast version wasn't announced as being included until late August.

I've only spot checked it but I believe it's the same transfer as the one from the 2014 box set. I believe they just cut-and-pasted it over from the bonus disc.

What are you talking about? The last several pages have literally been nothing but people discussing how there is a mono track included, it's just the same, heavily filtered mono track that has been recycled on and off since the 1999 DVD release.

The new Shout Factory 4K UHD release DOES have the Original Mono Mix but it is filtered with excessive NR, compression/limiting and bad EQ.

So far the consensus seems to be that this release has better picture detail as they scanned the OCN, whereas the Lionsgate release used an interpositive. Prices for the new editions are the best they are going to get.
