Fixing anime figure yellowing?

So I'm wondering if anyone has advice for removing, or at least significantly reducing, severe yellowing on a figure? A google search found people suggesting the use of hydrogen peroxide, but that was for action figures, so I'm not sure if that would work on a PVC anime figure. I've also seen people suggest Magic Eraser, but again, not on anime figures.

So has anyone tried any of these methods, or have any other methods they've tried? I'm looking for things people have actually done and have had success with, ideally.

I thought of that, but my artistic skills are pretty poor; me doing painting would most likely end badly. The color might not match, it probably wouldn't look smooth or match the rest of the figure, and there's a very solid chance I'd botch it (accidentally paint over the clothing adjacent to the discolored area, for example).

So an approach that allows me to address the discoloration without painting is pretty much a necessity.
