Not sure exactly where you draw the line tbh but Star Wars is its own beast. Haha.

People always complaining when not getting their movies as planned. I have the same issues with Star Wars figures. I preorder from various sources including Hasbro themselves. As release date approaches, people post their pictures of their figures up to 3 months prior to release. They get them at their local stores or other websites. You would think Hasbro, who makes and distributes them, would have first release. Nope. Usually last. It's unreal, but I just wait patiently because I know they will come; ...eventually.
BTW, I picked up Halloween I and II from Best Buy last week and they are still sitting in their packages sealed up, lol.

The franchise as a whole, from 2-8...they have moments, but they try too demystify or explain Michael when the appeal and the reason he's such a great villain is because there's no explanation. The unknowable will always be more fascinating than coming up with familial or cultish explanations for Michael. Always.
Carpenter trying to excuse a major plot point in a film he wrote and partially directed by claiming he wrote it in a drunken stupor is one of the lamest things I've ever heard from a director. He wrote it. Own it. Instead he blames alcohol? How professional of him.

If he wrote it in a drunken stupor the night before, why didn't he realize how "poor" it was the next day? Why did he submit it after he sobered up if he just scribbled it out when he was drunk? And writing a script when you're drunk is not what I would consider professional.

I'm sorry, but his excuse never worked for me. He wrote it, he filmed it, it's canon, and people watched it for decades. Then he came up with an excuse of why he didn't like it and wrote it out in H18. I'm not a fan of any of that tomfoolery.

And many still like Halloween II just as it is.

Lol I mean Carpenter is free to feel any way he wants about Halloween II. It’s not an excuse, he never wanted to make a sequel to Halloween, that’s been clear for decades. He’s always been pretty open about that fact.

Wait till you find out what Stephen King was on when he wrote Cujo.

I seemed to luck out with target. Getting 2 and 3 tomorrow it seems. I ordered the original from grindhouse along with Elvira so I’ll have to wait a bit it seems for those.

Default I ordered the first film for pick up in store

but be aware, 3-5 aren’t available yet in Best Buy stores after all, just 1-2. I don’t know if anyone else out there has a Best Buy with stock of the later movies, but they either won’t carry them in store or didn’t get a shipment in, that’s usually the case when they don’t have stock on release day.

I might have to order the other ones online, oh well.

Just FYI.

I wish it was on a DVD like the H2 TV version. I watched that on our little CRT in our guest room once and it was really nostalgic.

Our Best Buy’s entire movie section is smaller than what I have displayed in my house.

I went in on Sunday not knowing BBYs had been displaying Halloween and they were out of the first movie and only has copies of the second one, too.

I do wish more of these boutique releases included the TV version as an extra. It's truly a crime against cinema that the TV version of Showgirls isn't available on home video.

Got all 5 in from Bullmoose yesterday in perfect condition. They were packed in a box with bubble wrap in between each movie. Can't recommend Bullmoose enough.

The heavy duty slipboxes look and feel awesome in hand. The eco-cases for 3-5 are the only minor complaint. Can't wait to watch these now!

Sure he can say or feel whatever he wants. But I have to say I lost a bit of respect for him over the whole thing. I still think he's made some amazing films and he deserves a ton of credit as a filmmaker. Just because you were pressed into writing a sequel doesn't mean going on a drinking binge to write it and then trying to undo it decades later and blame it on the alcohol is a professional way to handle it.

Plus it's not nearly as bad as some claim. Everyone can have a different opinion of course, but the sequel has other issues, as much as I love it. The sibling angel is the least of the issues. I thought it was an interesting turn. Why is the hospital only staffed by half a dozen people? Why can't they just go over to another wing to get help? Is the hospital literally empty? What happened to the power (yes, it's explained in a deleted scene, but that didn't help audiences back then). People act like The Shape is some mystery that has no explanation, but we saw who he was at the beginning of the film, and he obviously grew up in a home like everyone else does. Then something happened along the way.

Mine will be here today or tomorrow from BM. I may just start buying all my stuff from them. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a complaint about them.

Anyone else pre-order these on Amazon only to get an email saying they won't arrive until mid-late October? What's the point of pre-ordering only to have them arrive that late?
