There is no box set, you could buy them all together from SF, or individually, but that was it.

I believe this is my first time ever, posting about waiting for an item to ship.

October 12th today and still waiting for SF to ship my #1 bundle. A full week after official release day.

Anyone else in the same boat?

Or maybe some people expect better than DVD-quality compression from a UHD?

If it wasn’t for the vinyl record and slip box , I would do the exact same thing you did.

Oh well, I don’t order directly from SF for many reasons, but once in a while an exclusive item sucks me in.

There won't be any replacement program from Shout for the compression. If lucky, they may do one for the glitch in Halloween II. Otherwise, you'll be waiting until somebody else releases them on UHD. But then what audio options would another label provide?

Didn't notice anything like that when watching them all over the weekend. At this point I don't even know what some of you want out of these films, the goalpost moves every single release, there's always something else to complain about. Carpenter could time travel and film the thing in front of some of you and you'd still complain about color timing or something else. Anyway, these are great discs, buy with confidence.

If you watch the film with Dolby Vision, there are no issues. I agree, buy with confidence, these are absolutely the best way to watch these films

If you pre-order Tarantino's Inglorious Bastereds and SCREAMS Halloween 4K disc it will look and sounds like this if you Zoom in on it while CrankinDat Atmos Boy. Not the format we wanted, but the format we got. Highly Recommended!

I just popped this in to see what it looks like in DV. My goodness! Wow! Beautiful. Never seen it like this before! No artifacts. Mono is just fine. I even like the new opening logos. They sound ominous.
Just one thing...the shot of Laurie walking and singing...the RR crossing sign is almost a bright green. Is that right?

Okay, fine, I'll play. What I said was I wasn't particularly looking forward to sitting through it yet again. I've seen it many times. Even the best movies can wear out their welcome, but it's still one of my favourite movies.

But then I added that I was surprised by how much I'd enjoyed it. In other words, the only reason I included that bit of information was to point out that, against all odds, I still liked seeing it again.

Finally, I didn't buy the 4K release "just to criticize it". Did you read my post? I said the presentation was largely excellent and the issues had no effect on my enjoyment.

I'm still waiting on my order for just 'Witch' and 'Return' and still absolutely no update on it other than their vague emails. I'm sick of it. I want it cancelled and I'll pay Amazon the $37 for either. Screw the posters at this point. At least I'll actually get it, ordering from Amazon.

See all that NASTY Compression?

Now when John Carpenter cuts over to Laurie they hit another bump in the road. Watch that trim I am literally watching it laying in my bed without my EYEBALL glasses on 8 feet away watching it on a tiny 43" LG and can see that compression triangle garbage smudgy mess!! This release is trash guys. Lionsgate doesn't have the compression issues LOL! I can't believe I spotted the compression without even my glasses on, on such a small screen as well. YIKES it's bad, and once you spot it you will never UNSEE IT!!

Scream really puts the scream in your 4k collection
I still don’t see it. Am I supposed to pause the movie?

No, the goalpost doesn't move. Expecting proper compression from a premium format like UHD is expected with every release.

Also, glitches like on Halloween II are sloppy and it's not moving the goalposts to expect that the newest format won't have a new video glitch that every other release of the film ever didn't have.

They put no attention into the HDR10 presentation of this film, and clearly focused only on Dolby Vision. Great if you have Dolby Vision, not so great if you don't.

Notice how the same posters always thank any post that ridicules anyone that is dissatisfied with any Shout release? I hope they're on the payroll so it's worth it.

I agreed the masters look amazing, That doesn't mean we have to be happy with poor compression. It's sad that some will defend anything a company puts out without having any expectations of a higher standard. Even worse when they taunt and ridicule those who do.

He may have been joking (at my age, I often have a hard time telling), but I believe he once made a comment about how framing was not important for a Carpenter film so he watches them using his TV's zoom function when he watches them. I can't imagine that a digitally zoomed image is free of distortion introduced by the act of zooming.

Framing is extremely important to me - so much so that I have an infinitly adjustable matting system installed so that each movie is perfectly matted (I hate discs that change their aspect ratio halfway through the movie). I watched part one a couple of nights ago on my vanilla HDR 120" projected image and was not bothered by compression artifacts.

I'm not saying that they're not there. Just think you may have to freeze frame a zoomed in image to be bothered by them.
